forum rule says "respect other members". posting the same tweak guide to another website, word per word for that matter, and without the permission of the original author, in other words stealing of one's idea or work, translates disrespect. i'm telling you this to prevent the situation from recurring. i'm sure SC can explain. but i assure you, SC is a she. i have her yahoo and friendster accounts. hehee.

hey guys has anyone of you heard about "looping"? a friend of mine claims that looping increases speed, any comment?

try these links to access your canopy page http://www.testmy.net/t-18616 http://www.testmy.net/t-20597 it's not MS. it's SM w/c stands for Subscriber Module.

common among torrent users: "seed more, get more".

well...its in your place. in ours, we use poles so its understandable that more men will be needed. and i dunno huh, that's what the installers revealed to me personally that he is paid Php450. maybe his company has more money than the company of your installer.
-
please make it clear if the fee you are referring to is a penalty for antenna relocation? or a payment for labor? in our city, the smartbro installers are paid Php450 each for every home visit, relocation or installation. there are 4 of them, 1 who will configure the canopy page and 3 who will take care of the pole and the antenna installation.
-
if i were you i will go for the second option and that is to call the CSR and request for antenna relocation. the advantage here is that you can avail for free from the smartbro installers the white extension lan cable and the surge suppressor w/c will serve as a junction box. if they do not come in after several follow ups, just hire 1 professional technician and 4 assistants so they will be the one to relocate your antenna. just make sure your canopy antenna isn't broken during the process.

you're welcome @ Xixshier in your case, the better color code is 42 coz it has the least jitter the highest RSSI and power level. however, it is a value of 700 or above which is ideal for a connection and you are below that level, that's the reason why you experience timeouts, plus the fact that there is an obstruction between your canopy antenna and the AP so you don't have a clear line of sight. download managers can make your downloading faster because they are using a technology called Multi-server Hyper-threading Transportation or MHT, which splits files into segments to increase download speeds. in conclusion, your predicament is on the location of your canopy. my suggestion is you call CSR and request for a relocation of your antenna. maybe place it at the top of the 2 storey house (specially so if you befriended the owner of that house) or use a pole which is taller than the roof of that house so you will have a clear line of sight. i myself is using a pole that is 36 feet tall and a diameter of 1 1/2 inches. good luck.

@ momma t. never know there's a thread for suggestions, i was a little lazy but will have to search for that... @ becman. you're welcome.

nice skill becman. couple of weeks ago, i thought of proposing to momma t. if they can put a special section here at tmn where members who are seekers of jobs in the US, or anywhere abroad, can post a resume. do you think it is possible?

@ kerby_kerby you are fortunate that you already are on WR512. it means your base station has been upgraded from 384kbps to 512kbps. if i was in your shoes am gonna find tweaks that will increase speed and then speed test to see the result. don't worry about the lease period its gonna renew automatically as long as you pay your subscription.
-
i believe this is more accurate than this

welcome to testmy.net @ Xixshier. before anything else. may we request you to answer or do the following. 1) can you access your canopy page? 2) if yes pls post your AP Evaluation page screenshot. 3) post all your installed programs. 4) did you check your canopy antenna if it is still aligned or beamed to the smartbro base station (smart tower)? 5) do you clean your pc from viruses, spyware, trojan, junk files periodically? your answers and posts will be helpful for the evaluation of your predicament.

I think there's something wrong with that post EF. here's the complete way to do it from http://www.testmy.net/t-18616 Accessing the Canopy page 1. Go to Control Panel, select Network Connections, find your Smart Broadband connection (LAN or High-speed internet) and right click on it. 2. Click Properties, on the General tab, find the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and highlight it(usually at the bottom of the list). Click Properties. 3. Under the General tab, select Use the following IP address and enter the following data in their respective properties: IP address: 169.254.3.3 Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0 Then click OK. 4. Open your browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Opera) and input this address on the address bar: 169.254.1.1 -

i really wondered why it is so hard to find the CNUT (Canopy Network Update Tool) installer even in the canopywireless website. also, the upgrade process is so complicated. EF's post in this regard is helpful. unfortunately it will not give you the 7.0mb aggregate. he said in a pm that getting that will be needing Prizm 3.0 but a smartbro Prizm 3.0 license is nowhere to be found. i think, the upgrade to 7.0mb should be simultaneous. you install the CNUT SM DES on your end, smartbro installs CNUT AP DES on their end together with Prizm 3.0 with a valid license key that will give you 7.0mb aggregate. but anyways EF, you deserve our gratitude for the effort in posting this guide. -
try this...it's more than boot.ini http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-42265-Can-I-delete-initial-install-of-XPdual-boot.html

does the new canopy page show you a 7mb aggregate?
