I've been running dual monitors for quite a while now... I acquired these 19" Samsung flatscreens a couple months ago. (Oh yea, I got them for free) The monitors are actually the same model... just different versions.
Now using the computers at school drives me crazy (15" monitors at 800x600... lol)
CA3LE... I think you have the same style desktop as me... and the same pimp mouse.
I made my own a while ago but I don't use it at the moment. You can't use any picture for a bootscreen. Some will turn out fine and some look horrible. (Although if you're messing with your boot screen you should know that already)
This is the one I use on one of my linux boxes...
When your computer is hibernating, nothing is running. I don't care what your friend says, but his computer isn't signed on to AIM when it's in hibernation mode. Maybe he's signed on from another computer, or the server just isn't reflecting that he signed off.
Why would you want it?
(I would help you with the autostart but I don't have time right now to look into what specific startup system SuSE uses. Try looking into /etc/rcS.d/ or /etc/rc#.d/ for a specific runlevel. This is one way to do it... there are others as well.)
Most likely it won't be possible without setting up additional software on the server and reconfiguring the network. When you were connecting via wifi you were on the school's internal network. There might be a way to do this via a VPN tunnel or such but I think it would be much more hassle than it's worth. (especially since most of the equipment isn't yours)
massey: I think you misunderstood Swimmer. He said use one partition for Windows and programs, and the other for important files, documents, pictures, etc. Quite a good idea, and that's about what I do now. (Except I have 2 drives instead of 2 partitions)
Do you have ObjectDock?
The problem is most likely a program hanging up when Windows is starting, so try disabling autostarting programs one at a time until you find out which one is getting hung up.
Some BIOS's (mine included) have a auto turn on feature... you would have to look around in your BIOS. A program wouldn't be able to do it though, except maybe from another computer. But I haven't had good luck with WOL (in other words... I've never been able to get it to work on any of my computers)
What about dansdata? I don't see anything about Firefox or Google on there. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough.
And it's not spam if you're going to these sites and seeing/reading it...
(Did I mention Firefox rules?)
