  1. Some Italian organization already sued Sony, for breaking the law. So I guess that's a yes.
  2. Comcast Strange problem you have there.
  3. Got ya beat. 17.922 SuperPI 1M.
  4. Go to the Processes tab and click on CPU twice, so it arranges programs by CPU usage. Then check which program is using so much.

  6. I've seen too many cached tests to still 'enjoy' them. As they will eventually go away I see no reason to have this kind of topic around, as they only add invalid test results into the database. *click*
  7. Unless you put a fan on them, heatspreaders don't have much use.
  8. It's technically not a rootkit, but is definatly extremely annoying to have on ones computer. Stupid Sony.
  9. You increase the 'FSB', which is the route from the CPU to the memory. This also bumps up the CPU speed as well.
  10. Note that faster doesn't equal more accurate and that there's always the issue of routing and distance. This is why individual tests may be more accurate than testmy.net, but it's certainly not that common. It can still be said that testmy.net has the most accurate results on average, or else CA3LE would be back to working on them. raptors892004: Full Duplex: Data can be sent and received at the same time Half-duplex: You can only send or receive, not both at the same time.
  11. You... Spammer!
  12. That is something 'normal' members have no influence on at all. Post count means nothing btw. Anything else?
  13. hulioni: That'll do. I'm curious about your benching ram, it seems to be running a tad slow compared to the rest of your system. Got a bad batch or something?
  14. Crucial is recommending PC4000 cuz they get more money from those. Unless you want to run faster than PC3200 (you'd have to OC for that), there's absolutely no reason to get any faster memory than PC3200 in your system. Intel systems may be the exception. Usually (unless you have really cheap ram) you can OC the PC3200 without a problem to faster speeds.
  15. It's a lovely system (ME WANTS IT.), but certainly not impossible. The fact that he runs with two seperate sets of ram isn't that special either. hulioni: Benchmarks dude, we need benchmark results!

  17. Theoretically not, but 256 MB ram can run at 2-2-2-5 timings much easier than a stick of 1 gig can. I disagree with resopalrabotnick with adding the 512 back. That will do nothing but remove performance.
  18. "no recorded UPLOAD tests in the last 7 days for user_name "JarHead"" I think 12000+ Kbps upload is more than this. Plus your down is EASILY beaten by big fat university connections. So that's a yes for them I suppose.
  19. 2x 1 Gig running the same settings as 2x 256? You're gonna need some very good sticks to pull that off. What gamers want is Winbond UTT (previously labeled BH-5 or CH-5) or Samsung TCCD (or TCC5) ramchips. Those can be found on various sticks, and you'll need to do a bit of searching to find out which.
  20. 4x 1GB, although I've seen a test that showed that 4 GB gets you just 2.75 GB, and the rest goes to BIOS, plus you're forced to use 2T, which KILLS AMD performance. 2x 512MB > 1 x 1 GB

  22. And that's slow? It's a nice amount above the average. Just what are you supposed to get?
  23. Then get an Opteron and OC the hell out of it!
  24. AMD XP 2400+ Tbed-B MSI K7N420 Pro (MS-6373) 2x 512 pc3200 (running at pc2100 ) 2x 80 gig HD 6600GT 17 inch Ilyama Getting better stuff in a month.
