  1. Almost seems like Chello to me, although they do offer some degree of help, which usually results in little to no change.
  2. Umm, I put some superglue on your hands...maybe that facepalm was a bad idea.
  3. That would be the next step, setting up an IRC channel. On either quakenet or enterthegame I suppose.
  4. This topic has been moved to Off Topic Discussion. [iurl]http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=8948.0[/iurl]
  5. Indeed, it's no longer relevant.
  6. This topic has been moved to Make it Faster.... [iurl]http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=8938.0[/iurl]
  7. Possibly "WTF?"?
  8. Stickied for the moment, it has to be seen I will henceforth call it the slowpoke section of testmy.net.
  9. Cached test. Don't click back, don't use web accelerators, clear your cache, and re-test.
  10. No way, far too slow way. Down with 56k.
  11. Lookin' good, although keep an eye out for another 512 MB ram stick, it'll help quite a bit.
  12. It doesn't quite work that way. They're two seperate cores with a clock speed of 2.5 Ghz on one die. 6 Ghz is only possible on P4s, overclocked with one of those liquid gases, or phase change. It would be rather strange if an OS that's about to be released required such a CPU.
  13. Your friend is overreacting, like people used to do for HL2 specs. You can run XP on a P3 400 Mhz, and definatly on systems less that that, so while Vista will require more, You could always turn off all the eye-candy to make it doable on something like a P3 1 Ghz, problably less.
  14. Looked it up: I've found CPU-Z screenies of a 7.2 Ghz P4, and a 4.096 Ghz FX-57. They were suicide screenies though.
  15. I know too much about that damn game...waay too much...
  16. Less ping is better. With more hops the general ping will be higher, as as the data has to go further away from you.
  17. They've hit 7.1 Ghz, which was done the same way, quite some time ago. No idea what the limit for AMD is, but somewhere above 4 Ghz for sure.
  18. I don't see much fun in fooling websites by using an exploit and it should patched soon anyway. Quite strange that this allows your shared upload amount to be adjusted in such a simple way. Beware of the troll.
  19. The reason for 2 gigs is BS, as 64 bit doesn't double a program's size in memory. I think Vista will survive just fine with 1 gig.
  20. It's obviously a yes. This is definatly not a hacking forum, and you're better off posting this thread on the plethora of hacking fora out there. Hell, you might even get help on some of them.
  21. I bet it'll be slower than an Intel when doing video/audio encoding.
  22. Depends. If you're gonna go quite a bit of multi-tasking, then perhaps an Intel with HT, or even dual core Intel might be better. If not, you'll never notice a difference between the two. Not so good barebones kit, you'll definatly want socket 939 if you go AMD, as Socket A is dying. The CPU fan will be really noisy at 4500 rpm, 500 watt PSU is plain overkill, 512 MB pc2700 is too little too slow as you'll want 1 gig of pc3200. If you're not planning to do any gaming on that machine, then you may as well get a motherboard with on-board video and use that. Saves money
  23. That certainly explains it,
  24. No fucking way that's possible on a single 56k line.
  25. Ok, so those are the speed tests, howsabout some real downloads then?
