I did the same thing. Didn't affect speeds AFAIK, but it certainly works better Out of all the people with cable/dsl I have one of the highest upload speed. Sick.

I can upload at 125 KB/s just fine. Download is also at 90% of advertised. It's only late at night that the connection completely dies out.

Thing is, the speed results from them will always be very simliar to eachother. Tweaking 56k isn't very useful.

If you still know what settings were changed, you could perhaps see if changing one back keeps the bug away and an upload like before.
