  1. What’s your ISP plan say you’re supposed to be getting?
  2. @CA3LE maybe you can handle this one
  3. There’s a lot of discussion on TestMy about HughesNet. Most of it not too good. well at least you’re getting 22 Mbps speed out in a rural area, which is better than many. Hopefully that continues and it’s not intermittently low.
  4. There’s a lot of discussion on TestMy about HughesNet. Most of it not too good. Search on Hughes above.
  5. Hello Aiden - SW Ohio here - Cincinnati area
  6. There’s an Automatic test here on TestMy. It’s a web page and not an app. I don’t believe it notifies you with an email, but you specify how long the test is to run. On the TestMy home page - right under the Test My Internet button there’s a link to the automatic test.
  7. Read all the tabs here. The OOKLA tests aren’t telling you your real speed on the internet. https://testmy.net/legit-speed-test.php those are some impressive speeds though
  8. There are a lot of Hughesnet Customers that have complained about their speeds here at TestMy. If you search here in the forums, you’ll get 39 pages of comments containing Hughes.
  9. @CA3LE you’re probably the best one to advise here
  10. They have a history here at TestMy of being bad
  11. Is your Roku connected via wireless or ethernet?
  12. I looked at your TestMy test results. They’re to three different test servers and a couple of multithreaded. What test server are you closest to? Run tome non-multithreaded tests to a TestMy server. I’m curious to see what speeds you get.
  13. Looking at your TestMy test data see attached download test. The one upload test I saw for you was a little over 400 kbps. From what I’ve read, you need somewhere about 20 Mbps download speed minimum to stream. Yours is dropping below that during the tests you’ve run. I don’t know what impact the 400 kbps upload effect would be on streaming. You may have a signal strength issue. Try running some tests here with a laptop directly connected to the modem via Ethernet cable. If you can’t do that, and your device you’re using for testing is a wireless device, try running the tests with your device right next to the modem/ wireless router. Report your results back here On your Roku Home screen, go to Settings. Choose Network then About. It will show you a Mbps speed number. Report that back here.
  14. You can do some Latency testing (select Latency pulldown on home page). Compare results between Dallas and LA. Choose the one with more consistent results. The tests are pretty quick. The server with the better latency will usually give better test results, but not always, as it matters when tests are performed and what’s going on between you and the test server.
  15. When you look at your results, select the ConnectID link and it will show your prior results. It looks like there are results going back to about a year ago under that ConnectID. interesting that your multithread test results are better than your regular test results. On mine, I always get lower results when multithreading. I assume that your non-multithread tests were when testing to the TMN Test Server located the closest to you among all the TMN test servers.
  16. Glad you got it working. LOL. Not a fix for your average Joe computer user
  17. Looking at your TestMy test data I see that you’ve run some tests to the Dallas TX test server and some to the London England test server. Which test server is closest to you? https://testmy.net/mirror
  18. My wife’s 2015 MacBook Pro connects to our AirPort Extreme Bas Station at 877Mbps, and the TestMy download I just did was 230 Mbps - which is 15% above our Spectrum ISP plan 200 max. The laptop is located 12-15 ft from the wireless bridge/router through one interior wall. The wireless bridge/router is set to a fixed 5GHz channel 161.I get our plan max speeds on iPads too. Seems like your MacBook should be able to deliver if your wireless router settings were adjusted. since the 2.4GHz channel has better range, you might want to ensure that you’re auto switching between 2.4 and 5 GHz on the router - assuming you can’t get satisfactory results on a fixed 5GHz channel.
  19. The box for the laptop may have the Thundebolt-to-Ethernet dongle in it. Apple put them in the box for a MacBook Pro a few years ago. Don’t know if they do for the MacBook or if they still do.
  20. This makes sense. I couldn’t find any TestMy results for you since 2018. 90.5 Mbps sounds like it’s on the low side, but I don’t know what your equipment setup and capabilities are.
  21. Is your ISP plan 18 Mbps or 18 MB/sec?
  22. SpeedTest.net will never show you a true internet speed. To understand why TestMy.net gives a a much more realistic indication, read all the tabs here: https://testmy.net/legit-speed-test.php
