I think the problem is in your router, do a hard reset on it. To verify this, just remove the router from the network for a minute, reboot everything of course.

Wow, your not the first one to recognise the little bugger, but your the first that noticed, or at least said something about it. I see folding@home as one of the most self aware, selfless issues that any , and all of us can do for the em-betterment of the human race. Folding doesn't care who, or what you are, nor where on this Earth we live. But what Folding does do is give the genius researchers, and scientists advantage over the many mutations that efflict us in a medical way. From every disease, to illness, thats what they are working on. You don't have to have a blazin computer, or even a fast internet connection, every single work unit brings something to the plate. Folding is well known among avid internet users, but yet sits quietly from the general public. It's just my way of trying to bring awareness to what is going on at stanford university. So "catch " the bug, and fold . I didn't put the link in the bug, so if anyone wanted to use it, there is no adverse goodies in there, but really, it would be nice if anyone using the bug would place the link in there as well. Here's the code to place the bug in your sig, and link to the testmy.net folding thread. Just copy, and paste into your sig

Is it possible the adapter is set to half duplex ? I would first reset the modem and the router, then do a reboot, that normally will fix it. Here, read this

Not really any surprise there. lol -
Yea, the new ram is more efficient , but can't be by much you know, if you could get the older ram, I would do that. I'm sure it's not even really old at all anyway is it ?
-
I would be surprised if the latency was the same on the second set, is it ? And you can only set the voltage as a whole, so the weaker, or slower will yield to the more powerful. Can you post the specs ?
-
Yea, i don't care for it, but thanks to those who recommended it

HELP with Hewlett-Packard All In One Printers.... ASK HERE
mudmanc4 replied to ianonline's topic in Networking and Hardware
Welcome to testmy.net roflz , please play nice, thanks -
So it wont fully post ? Sounds like you may have tried to change something in the BIOS ? There is really only one things that will cause this error , a dead CMOS battery. Or a faulty chip. I doubt if it is the hard drive, but slim chance. I would probably guess that since you said " floppy " that the computer has a few years on it. If it's not the battery, then you could try and flash the bios. Please post the motherboard specs, ram, all that hardware stuff, we don't need necessarily all the software you have, but if you have installed some sort of bios altering software , that could be useful as well.

I wrote a small guide as to port forwarding in two different ways for torrent clients, it can be found at torrent port forward guide
-
1) Open a web browser window and type your Default Gateway IP number in the address bar. It should be 192.168.1.1 in most cases.(Depending on your router, it could be a number of addresses.) Check this site for a list of default router passwords. 2) To login leave username blank and type admin for the password (unless you have changed it before which is always advisable) 3) Find the section that says Port Range Forwarding or something like that. 4) Add in the port range 6881-6889 for Torrent files in the window. 5) Make sure you check both protocol boxes TCP and UDP as well as the Enable setting.(important) 6) Have the forward address set as your internal IP address 192.168.x.xx , To find yours Go to Start -> Run and type in cmd. This will open a shell, type the command " IPCONFIG " and look for your IP Address. 7) Confirm and submit all the changes and that will probably work, if not , and you have several computers on the internal network, you can always turn on Port Triggering (in Advanced) telling it to forward the ports you list above with the trigger port set to 6881 and the protocol to TCP. This way you don't need to know the IP leased to the specific machine. If i left anything out, tell me, and I'll change it. The ports might be different, so you may have to check the specific torrent client. Can usually be found in the preferences tab of the client by " checking " the connection to see if others can connect to your machine.

I think if you go into preferences, and look around then you can " test " your connection, and it will tell you which port to open. Then again, i havent used that prog since suse 10.3 was out there.

Alright, I appreciate the head start though, now I'll have to turn mine back on, whenever they come out with a new beta core, it takes them a couple weeks to calculate points, and the WU's come crashing down, so I dumped it for a week. I'll get back on it in the AM, uhh, or when wake up

I would just go buy the disk, that way there's no question about your purchase. -
That is a good read, I sure hope this moves forward sooner then later. I know it has been discussed thoroughly in the house, lets see them move on it.
