Have you installed any new programs recently? Have you done a system restore to a time before the issue began?

good thinkin on the turnin the onboard video on, should be a bios setting, so the only way he's gonna be able to do that is by either resetting the bios by jumper, or removing the battery for a couple minutes. Man , it could be a thousand things.

Yea, your right, I should change my user name from my e-mail, to something else. But wait, If it weren't for my spamserver catching the forged e-mail, then well, who knows.

I think you two are placing the blame on the wrong one. Paypal is the one that stopped this from happening. If it weren't for them , this could have gotten bad for me, the blame is on the moron(s) who don't have the cahonies to make money legally.

I sold an item on E-Bay, I received an email, format (.eml) I used "gedit" to open the attachment to see that they were going to deposit 2400.00 USD in my account, the sale was only 39.00 , I have the Trace of server ip's, and all identities from the sender, that spoofed the e-mail, and forwarded them to paypal. It is possible, that if I were to have opened in windows, I may have seen the .eml in a browser , so the links would have been active, and I may have mistaken them as real, logging in , and giving my password and account info to the crook. They then turned around last night, and attempted , actually, they had a hold of over 30,000 USD on my attached credit cards and checking account, but they were stopped by paypal due to the id number mismatch. Thank ubuntu, I love you. BTW, I use spamarrest.com they detected this may be a forged email by means of SPF testing

Why are some of them so dense.
mudmanc4 replied to GIXXERGUY6's topic in RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable)
They never do, they have a list of questions that they must go through, and an answer in front of them , when they get to a point where they think the problem lies. Funny as hell though, cause I have been there . They can hardly speak English, sometimes I think they have a translated page in front of them. -
rotflmao, you'd never leave your computer lol I remember a movie from the 70's, I think it was called " BrainStorm" , they would record there brain waves , and memories, then play them back. Well one of the men doing the research recorded himself in marital pleasure, and looped the tape,(just the peak moment) he was found a day or so later in sheer Ecstasy, nearly dead, when found, his coworker had to literally make him stop by pulling the headgear (no pun intended, it was on his skull) off of him as he put up a fight.

Alrighty then, you must be on the user account, you need to be logged on as administrator, this is a protection that you set up during the installation. I hope you remember what you set the password as If not , LMK, and we'll try to find it. No guaranties!

Norton doesn't get along w/ anything lol, sorry you have it, read the links that I posted, I'm sure you'll want to ask around, and I'm sure someone else here would like to help you out as well. But , I do have to say, there aren't many out there , that care to much for norton. Chances are, this is the root of your problem.

ok, got it! Norton is most likely the issue, it is awful! not only does it not work properly, but it is a major memory leach! Your going to have fun getting rid of it. Let me find a few links here with the testimony's of other ex-norton users. Read! http://www.testmy.net/t-20662.15 This sir, is what you must do to get rid of it ! http://www.askdavetaylor.com/how_to_fully_remove_norton_from_pc.html

Yes Vista is a memory hog, if the machine came new, w/ vista on it, it should have enough ram. Don't quote me, but I believe the minimum ram for Vista is 1 gig. You should check for spyware, and viruses. spybot.com is a good one, for spyware, and free! Do you know know how much ram you have? No question is stupid, you know that And no, there are many system services running , that take up memory. I'm not saying thats what it is, just my first thought. You also could have a bad DIMM, thats a stick of ram. As far as the video card, there are many boards out there, that have a small amount of " built in " video memory. But as far as I know, they dont make many anymore that do not require a separate card for video memory. What kind of machine do you have?
