  1. You could trash the old one, because if it's that old, chances are there's been an update, and you'll get no WU's anyhow, just waste CPU clocks. And another thing, here , let me help you out, that was three, it's that little "B" shaped thingy that comes after two, only w/o the line
  2. We need to stop crappin up the thread. It's over , and thats it. I'm not excluding myself from this stink either. And i don't feel like splitting out this thread !! Anyone have an issue with this, I suggest Pm me, don't do it out here ! The speed testing here is for phones not mouths. Thx for the invite , invite icq1032 , been a while since you were around man
  3. I dunno about your specific issue, but maybe this will give you something to go by. Yesterday I got a call froma client that there spellcheck would challenge everything no written in French, I haven't found the problem yet, but I woke up to another email about close to the same thing, only it's system wide. I would ask you as I have them, do you use outlook, and is this problem persisting there as well ? The one persons issue is system wide, the others is just in word , and outlook. Interesting. I'm looking for a correlation between yours and there's.
  4. You only need to set up what static Ip's you want. I don't quite get what the last part of what your saying means, I'll check back later to hear your results on the xbox (while others are surfing the net on other machines )
  5. W/O knowing the specific GUI and firmware your using, have you looked around in there for QOS settings ? If you find them, then you could set it up by port ( some firmware has this capability ) , or by setting a static Ip on the xbox, and doing the QOS by IP. That should take care of it, as the xbox will get all the bandwidth you set it for, or that it needs. You should also be able to restrict the other ports bandwidth.
  6. I believe the story whole heartedly. I'm not going into detail right now, but I'll stand up for what you witnessed because it's more then possible. There's more and more of this type of thing being reported every day. Besides, I have experienced more of this then most anyone will care to hear, let alone believe, because if someone hasn't experienced it for themselves, it's real easy to dismiss. Cool pics , I'm glad for you that you were able to get there again.
  7. Go into control panel under sounds , if the device is installed, then you should be able to chose it as the sound device, then click the "sound" tab that you should see, there's a drop down box there for a "sound scheme " , chose "windows default " . then apply . Many times hen you do a fresh install, for some reason , this isn't set. If the device isn't there, then goto control panel, add new hardware, click yes when asked if you have already installed the device, then update driver automatically. If this doesn't work then you may have to locate the correct device driver. You can download a free tool that will scan your system to find out the devices. Called Everest , look for the system devices , you should see the device, and many times there is a link to the manufacturers site, where you can download the correct driver. Save it to a known location, then install on "C:/ " , if you are asked to create a new folder , say yes.
  8. omgosh, that must be in the top 5 of funnier then shiat :haha:
  9. Looks as if "propel" could actually start something "web wide". I remember back oh I dunno, around 18 years ago I had dial up for my first service. It was a company which I believe is still in business call Juno, basically email and shiat like that, we had an "accelerator" that just blocked the pics, so all you would get was the text. If you adjusted the connection settings now called "tweaking " enough, you could most of the time get 40-50 K, but in actuality, you weren't getting that. Cache was a huge thing to be aware of then, huge. But disk space was as big a problem. If not bigger because things (data transmission ) grew exponentially, thus DSL. Anyhow, just think if all pages older then one day were automatically cached, (just the text ) which is much of the time all were after in any situation , which takes up a small fraction of the crap filled pages were served each time we hit a link, coupled with layers of security, and tracking from several dozen "interested parties" and so on. So you get what need, then if you chose bysettings , that you would like to see all those pretty colors and ad's blah blah, then with todays line quality for the most part, everyone could do what there doing now, minus the billion lines of code that streams constantly in and out of the modem, (in the name of correct data flow or docsis ) with say around 100-200 KB of bandwidth, and t would be laser fast. But that wont happen until people start thinking about getting what they want now, instead of those that are in charge of selling bandwidth, and precious space on web pages to feed there need for a dream life on a beach .
  10. What speed are you getting now ? From what I see, the average download speeds are generally 350Kb - 490Kb. And what have you done to your connection so far.
  11. What is it that's not working anymore ? And has there been any progress on this at all, and if you are able to gain access to the canopy, will you post how you went about this.
  12. jayzus , you can tell when someone's gettin old , they lose there perspective on S#!t, like plad pants , and pasly couches and junk like that, hang in there old boy, your sight will soon be failing , and that S#!t wont matter, only thing that will is that the toast is soaked in something so you can chew it, and the cake is swimmin a puddle of milk :haha: Nevernind the half nekked B/W of Betty Davis on the desktop to "start " your morning out right :haha:
  13. :haha: Cut that crotch hair off your face man. And get the client on your machine, gimmie some competition ! :haha:

Hey thats cool, what the provider information ? And welcome to testmy.net
  15. Glad this section came up. I'm headed over to se if there's an updated client that is adjustable, so it doesn't run full bore all out . The windows client is easily adjustable, you don't even know it's running if set right. When I run the terminal client where last one out , the commands I could not get to set. It's been a while now, as Im sure there's a new core. Id'e better do it, hell, I'm down to the 2nd place now
  16. If you want to do this, thats fine, I'm good at it, and I enjoy it. See , I help the others here ( all the members help out all the time) have a decent place to hang out, without hostility. So your welcome to stay long as you like, there's a lot of cool people here. And more cool ones joining every day ok, so be one of those ones. See I looked back at the four posts you have since you started, three of which seem to be like you think someone's coming at you or something, which is not the case. And I did read the whole thing, I dunno why you would have thought otherwise, but thats cool, just lighten up man.
  17. Dude, not exactly the best way to start out here. Might want to chill out. Your used to hostility no ? Were not like that here ok. So, you have a choice don't you
  18. Well stop talking about it, and get it done Don't get feeling too good inside, I got your message the other day, ( my PPC took a southerly dip and I lost 688 contacts, including yours )we still need to talk about that, and I read it before it happened, it was planned. So I prepared the day before.
  19. Show me any ISP ( for a phone / PPC / whatever ) that will get that please. If so , this is day one, and no one else has heard of it besides you, and him. All together possible , but not probable.
  20. what phone is that ? I want one
  21. Those with a sat connection mind disclosing what there average, reality test scores are ? I would like to get an idea of just what the bandwidth is. I have a seriously difficult time believing this is a true speed, I'm looking t it from a cache viewpoint as well zalternate.
  22. Yea, I used sliced bread for antivirus for a while, I didn't get any virus' , but I did contract something I thought might be a yeast infection :haha:
  23. Just tossin this out there, but it may be location vs. wireless card antenna . If the signal is coming from up, it has a tendency to go outward see , depending on the router it could be omnidirectional though, yet there could be structural interference within the ceiling, or a wall. Or the card may be working like coknuck said at a lower speed then the router is capable of, but thats a huge difference. Chances are it's several things. Many times people put there desktops under the desk , and the antenna is in the back then down by the floor away from the signal.
  24. Now your just showin off........wait, thats the title of this thread
