mudmanc4 Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 AMD , If not for the heat issues W/ Intel, then as a gamer , I must say AMD ,clockability is a big issue for me , as well as stability.
richcornucopia Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 I hope this doesn't get as bad as those ie vs firefox threads. Anyway I'm an Amd person all the way until intel comes out with something to dethrone the Amd 64 as king of gaming and overclocking.
amc11890 Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 AMD all the way, cheaper, better cooling
dlewis23 Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 right now AMD but once conroe comes out, intel.
tommie gorman Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 Presently AMD, because that is what is in comp. But really does not matter as long as it works. Don't do enough.
php Posted April 7, 2006 CID Share Posted April 7, 2006 Well, I'm using Intel in all my pcs... but I don't do much gaming. All sound encoding, video encoding, etc... I don't have heat issues either. (Although that might be because of my pimp cooler... lol.. I don't have any temperature sensors that I can read with the cpu, but I can get a temp from the base of the heatsink.) coknuck Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I'm a AMD man all the way. Intel is like M$ not worth a dam. But thats just my opinion.

amc11890 Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I think that amd is over all better: AMD is good for gaming and intel is good for multimedia

j3grizz Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I've always ran intel without any problems. But I'm not overclocking. Maybe I will try it out one day.
humorman Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 Intel is all I have had and no issues. My brother had a AMD and he said it gave him way to many problems and he won't get one again lol. But I also heard someone say AMD is a cheap kind of ripped of cpu or something lol. But I like intel never had any issues yet and I overclock and play games etc.

FaT_PHiL Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 Currently on a pentium 3, and it does its job for how much i push it performance wise. But i guess im an amd fan. They are just better overall for the time being. Lower prices for better performance, better cooling before and after OC'ing and there low end models play games great. I really would take any chip higher than my p3 lol, intel or amd .. lucky people and there fx-60's and EEs =/

gc Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I've used both AMD and Intel and IMO, AMD is far better in all apps..and a lot easier to o/c..

CA3LE Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I got my first Intel chip fairly recently... Pentium D (dual core) -- I firggen love it -- but I was 100% AMD before that. buuuut I will still always be an ATI person (screw nvidia, hehe)
j3grizz Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 How much did the Pentium D set ya back? I haven't checked into it yet.
Dark_Matter Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I don't really care what processor is in my machine AMD, or INTEL as long as they do what i need them to do so basicly i'm non-bias on this topic. Although i do agree with CA3LE, on the GPU side of things ATI all the way.
RTB Posted April 8, 2006 CID Share Posted April 8, 2006 I'll use whatever's faster and more reliable. Conroe as CPU is very promising, but there are no motherboards for it out yet, which gives no guarantee on stability. For now, it's AMD... 3200+@2.7Ghz ftw. It's basically as fast as a FX-55 for a third of the price.
