CA3LE Posted July 1, 2011 CID Share Posted July 1, 2011 What do you have to do or set to show up in the Members Section of Fastest Downloads, or Avg. My Avg is 65 Mbps and my fastest is around 89Mbps but I don't show up in the Members Section showing my results ??? Welcome to TestMy! You're ranking... number 4 for download speed. You couldn't rank before you signed up... then after you signed up it can take up to an hour to hit the list. But you're on the list last time I looked. Enjoy your stay... come back... and make sure you tell your buddies!
Gatordroid Posted July 1, 2011 CID Share Posted July 1, 2011 Anyway to erase history of downloads and start over...switched my modem, so the majority of my avg tests aren't a reflection of my actual speed...or is there a way to choose which tests to use as the avg? Sorry, I don't allow deletion from the database... people could cheat the rankings if I allowed that. You can however query the database without those results by using the date and days fields. ... but because those tests were taken in the last 24 hours you can't filter them out yet. mvbmac Posted July 3, 2011 CID Share Posted July 3, 2011 About 32 Mbps download consistently About 5 Mbps upload consistently This is with a LAN cable running directly into an Apple Airport Extreme which is connected to a Docsis 3.0 modem connected to Comcast. Using wireless connectivity with the Apple Airport Extreme produces more variable speeds depending on proximity. I pay about $55/month for what Comcast calls the "Ultra" level which "guarantees" 20Mbps and claims with SpeedBoost it hits up to 30. In this instance, they actually do fulfill these claims pretty consistently. This was not my experience before I upgraded to the Ultra. Smith6612 Posted September 3, 2012 CID Share Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) My home results: Nothing fantastic. I pay for only 1Mbps/384kbps from Verizon for DSL, but I'm at 5Mbps/768kbps for various reasons . There's also QoS on the Verizon line on the upstream so you're not seeing the full pipe as a result. We use a lot of upload here along with the download and I hate having the latency shoot in the thousands or my download being decreased under heavy uploading. Also, I get 5Mbps for pretty much nothing as I'm the only person in the neighborhood who was given a speed higher than 3Mbps as I'm testing something for the ISP. I also have DSL through Frontier: I pay for 3Mbps/384kbps but I receive 3Mbps/768kbps for some various reasons as well . There's no QoS on this connection as Frontier's BRAS is ignoring all QoS flags I set, so the reason I have double the upload I should have is due to the fact that I worked with someone to identify the reason why I couldn't throttle my upstream and keep that line running well. As a trade-off/experiment an upload boost was given, so I do have more upload from them than business customers get on their DSL product Edited September 3, 2012 by Smith6612
