1100 should be plenty to run the command prompt...
but seriously, with some of the eye candy off it should work fine. probably comparable to xp. (who knows, maybe even faster?)
once you have changed the settings as posted above you might need to shut all explorer windows and launch it again to make the settings take effect.

in the mid term pci express will probably displace agp like pci replaced isa and agp replaced pci for graphics cards.
pci-e has the advantage that it isn't limited to graphics cards. if you want to set up a raid for example there are some nice 16 channel sata raid controllers with their own processors and cache on the market for pci-e.
so it's not one comp but rather a blade unit with 4 blades of either one or two cpus. but interesting.
does anyone know if the core duo 2 will be able to do anti-hyper-threading? this would mean making the two cores appear as one to be able to run one thread on both cores. (which would rock for gaming and the like.)
you could use a zippo. if you cut a hole in the bottom and remove some of the cotton that stores the fuel to accomodate the drive it should still work. it won't hold as much fluid as before, but ...

to me it sounds like marketing bullshit. their gear can handle the higher speed, just not for everyone at once. so the resulting inconsistencies in speed are called speed boosts in the form of bursts.

ok, did you back up the registry settings when you tweaked? restore them then. otherwise, install cablenut again and have it set default values. if that doesn't help you will need to try different tweak settings. but it does sound like you tweaked it too much.
(or there is something wrong with the line, in which case the tech might be able to help.) what is your config? i mean networking hardware you are using...
there are some that have an internal antenna. a lot actually, especially the european models. usually a ceramic covered with thin metal in top of case behind screen.
