Welcome to testmy.net Paschendale ; First, what is your initial connect status(just click on your connection icon in your system tray. (if I don't like my connect status, I just dis-connected and connect again ~ 'till I get at least a 49.2Kbps speed, sometimes I get a 53Kbps speed going.) Next, dis-able your Hardware(modem) compression in your Internet Connection > Properties > Gerneral > (Connect using ~ your Modem) > Configure set Maximum speed(bps) to 921600 [check] Enable hardware flow control [check] Enable modem error control [un-check] Enable moden compression hit OK goto Networking (still in Properties) and click Settings under "Type of dial-up server I am calling" and [check] Enable LCP extensions [check] Enable software compression [check] Negotiate multi-link for single link connections hit OK try those first, but remember to always re-start your computer for any changes to take effect. later, we'll talk about some CableNut settings if you want. (or just check out "New Dial-Up Record' in 'Show off Your Scores' forum and see the different settings I've used) there are other Registry tweaks to help Web pages load faster, too.

As some of you may know ~ I'm using Dial-Up to connect and trying to 'optimize' my CableNut settings for on-line gaming. I've recently discovered I can play in large servers(with 64 players) and still stay connected(WOO HOO). (see NewSettings1.JPG for settings) So, the question is ~ "can someone help me understand these setting;" MaxFastTransmit: Default: 64 KB Valid Range: 0

re-set my CableNut Adjuster settings, again. . . .and staying connected in-game/on-line(with up to 64 players in server!) It actually stays connected better with more players in the game server... New Settings for feedback;

my Main Interface to testmy.net just tripped out!

Cleared my CableNut Adjuster settings; except I dis-abled (set to 0) EnablePMTUDiscovery and went to SpeedGuide.net and got this; MTU = 1500 MTU is fully optimized for broadband. MSS = 1460 Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS. Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 8760 RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits Unscaled Receive Window = 8760 needless to say ~ I couldn't stay connected in on-line game. so, I'm going to try a previous(good/small) CableNut setting and see what happens. I'm connected at 52Kbps right now, I'll click over and do a download test. :::..
