Intel News.. Lots of it regarding upcoming chips
disturbed replied to Swimmer's topic in General Discussion
yep - just like last year, i urge everyone to pay attention to intel chip prices a week before the 23rd, and a day after: on the 24th - ....you will notice a huge drop in chip prices, thus the perfect time to upgrade your intel box -
thank you thank you lolz

-
do you have an nvidia motherboard ? graphics card ?
-
....to me it sounds like its one of those nvidia's processes - ....most of them start with nv
-
yeah hopefully ...95% of the time there is no way to guess where you should be without testing - so, my prediction: it will fail prime hehe
-
would you like to see a really detailed o/c guide ? - it covers literally everything
-
i would never advise to use programs that overclock ur pc - those are nothing but bad stuff - clearing your CMOS would most likely fix whatever went wrong during that process

You have to pretty much start from scratch - work from stock settings on stock voltages and see where you can get - work on your processor first by putting your memory on a divider (something like 1/02), increase by 10-15mhz - go into windows, stress test with occt / super pi - keep doing that - increase voltage as needed - when you went as high as you wanna go or can go, drop ur processor on a low multiplier (something like 2.5, 3) and work up with your ram - increase the ram voltage and mhz accordingly - for ram testing the best program is MemTest when you think you found the max of both components - stress test for about 10 hours each component seperately - if each component survives prime95 for about 10 hours - you can call it stable - finally...after finding and testing the max of each component, put it all together that is the simplified version of overclocking i have the more detailed one in writing if you are interested

Here is a list of very useful programs to have when overclocking MBM - monitors voltages/temperatures CPUZ - a very informative program to have OCCT / SuperPI / Prime95 - Stress / Stability testing (CPU / Memory) Atto / HDTach - Hard drive performance testing

top 1% of all computers scanned :haha: ...don't mind me - simple things get me excited lOL

Time to bring up this old thread ...I know its kinda useless but hey lolz http://gameadvisor.futuremark.com/gameadvisor/service/my_system.jsp?sysInfoId=2685897

its all right

if all you wanna do is surfing the web and play a windows (solitare and such) game once in a while...no reason to change your comp - sure, a 600mhz processor. 512mb memory would have been enough for that, but what you have is good for few more years

Total time logged in: 2 days, 8 hours and 15 minutes do you guys idle in here ? heheheh....im just here when i wanna post and im out
-
....google for instructions on how to try and o/c it ...there are many guides out there - overclockers.net has one i believe, and it is pretty good
-
Give me some more details on that o/c will you ? - ...id have to challenge you on that LOL - nothing personal, ....i just havent seen anyone with that huge of an o/c, especially not on that processor - 2.7GHz alone is very very hard to achieve, especially it being a stable speed (prime tested, super pi mod tested and occt tested) - is it stable ? ...i just cant see that proc. running at those speeds What kind of multiplier are you running ? Memory timings / dividers !? Voltages !?

i am not however counting 5-6 hours wasted while i was searching the web for the correct raid/sata drivers hehehe
