  1. I think I still have the image...But I think I only have 64 bit in RC2, I have both images for RC1 32 and 64bit.. I don't have my ftp server at the moment, due to some f#%^@ hackers, so I have no space to store it...
  2. I only had the problem early this morning/afternoon I think...Sometime today lol... It was only one time, and it has flew ever since... The server just went "Dee Dee Dee" for a bit.. Keep up the good work Cable, I know your pain...I just got an email recently that a site I have run and maintained for 2 years had a scam running from it...Seems someone hacked my ftp, and uploaded a site to it, and was running a bank scam on it.. Needless to say I was pissed off, and I decided to just take the entire site down, and said F#$% the whole thing...I give you credit for putting in the time and effort to get the site back working... I know how crazy it was for me to keep my site up and running, and I had no where near the traffic you get.. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be extremely distraught if this site ever went down for an extended period of time... It's very hard to find a forum where you can get so much good information, while at the same time have good-natured conversations with fellow members. I have yet to have any problems with any members here, and rarely do I see anyone having any. I attribute this to how the site is maintained, designed and moderated... Good Job, and remember lots of people appreciate it
  3. My current package: 30/5 (Verizon Fios ) I never thought I would love my ISP, but I truly am madly in love with Fios Highest offerred: 50/10 Projected in year: 100/20 / 50/50 ?
  4. About 4 years ago...Seems like yesterday.
  5. It definitely puts everything into perspective...It's funny how quickly every thought, rationale, or belief can be changed almost instantaneously. The hardest thing, so far, has been adjusting to a different view of the world. It's a very fast personality change that I wasn't quite ready for, but am adjusting to.

  7. Good work cable... I hope you nail the little kiddies to the wall....It's time people started payiing for this crap. To me breaking into someones website, is no different than breaking into someones car/house. Problem is these little kiddies can hide behind a pc screen, and don't need to actually get off their asses. I hope they were dumb enough to hack the site from their own pc's, without masking their ip...I would nail their undropped testes to the wall!
  8. A little late with a response, mainly cause I was trying to figure out the best way to explain it, without taking up half a page.. On the fateful day, I was sent to a administration building for a school, which shall remain nameless for now, to fix a refrigeration line that the non-english speaking workers decided to cut through because they were "dee dee dee". Mind you, I was not supposed to be the one to go to this job either, as I was turned around from my previous destination. So, I arrived at the building, met the supervisor to get the 411, and he directed me to the roof hatch(pictured below in case you don't know what it is..access to a flat commercial roof). The hatch was located in a closet, filled with janitorial supplies, mops, tools, and also one of the main electrical panels. There is a steel ladder which is mounted to the concrete wall. This runs up to the roof hatch. So I attempted to climb the ladder to access the hatch, as I was directed to do so by the supervisor of the particular building... Well, I got to the top of the ladder, and reached out for the handle on the roof hatch, and POW! It grabbed my hand, and sucked me in. At this point I knew what was happening, and I tried everything in my power to free myself, but the juice was going from my right hand, across my chest, and out my left hand to start. Then as I tried to use my legs(which were still free, thanks to rubber soles), to bash my head into the hatch(was trying to break my arm off..Not figuratively, but literally). Eventually my shins got stuck to the ladder, and I lost all ability to move...I guess people in the building either saw the lights flickering, or heard me thrashing around. I thought I had screamed, but witnesses said they only heard me for a second(I think my mind was screaming, but since my chest muscles were contracting uncontrollably, I could not scream). The hatch was live because the morons on the roof decided to start ripping the roof apart without reading the plans(oh wait they couldn't read or write or speak english). Basically, they left a live wire touching the roof hatch, and removed the ground for the roof hatch, therefore leaving the electric no where to go, until someone grabbed the hatch. The power was for all the exterior lighting for the building.. Eventually I began to beg to put an end to it..I don't mean just stop the pain, I actually was begging to die. Let's just say it takes a lot of pain to wish death upon yourself. Just as I began to lose any hope, I heard a loud pop(which till this day, I am not sure what it was..I believe it may have been me hitting the floor). The supervisor must have realized what was happening, and he turned to building power off..Problem was, the main panel was in the closet I was in, and if he had gotten to close to me, both of us would have been killed...So he had to get the key for electrical room in the basement, then get to the basement, open the door, and turn it off...Took about two and a half minutes(one and a half of which I think I was conscious). They carried me outside the building(which was totally dark now), and I preceded to spit blood everywhere(thought I bit my tongue, but I just popped blood vessels in my mouth). I thought I was fine, , all I wanted to do was get my keys from my truck(i have no idea why). And I kept asking who was going to take care of my ferret(I think shock was settting in). Eventually the ambulance came, and gave me a ride to the nearest hospital, where they pumped me full of morphine, and ran every test under the sun. Then I spent a few days in cardiac care, until my blood levels were back with in normal range. I got lucky as hell, by all accounts I should be 6 ft under. There were little things in my favor. I am thin, I was not soaked in sweat yet, and I was young. Doctors said had I been either: 10lbs heavier, wet or 10 years older, I probably would have been cooked. For the most part, I came through it OK. I had a heart attack, but so far tests have shown it is ok. I lost nerves in several parts of my body. Below is how they fixed the thumb nerve(looks a lot better now).
  9. There is also a way to incorporate sp2 into his original xp disk.... http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm Its rather easy, and then sp2 is already on the install disk.
  10. Run a chkdsk /f or chkdsk /r in the recovery console...Sounds like you may have a hard drive issue.
  11. In bios, what is set to boot first? Does it change when you reboot or let it sit? Have you tried to run a chkdsk /f while in repair console? See if your HD is dirty... Do you have any usb cd or hard drives? And, how old is your motherboard? Perhaps the battery is going...
  12. You should have your modem coming off the 1st split. If you have more than one splitter between the modem and the drop coming into the house, it can cause problems. Best way, is the split the main coming into the house(get a quality splitter). Use one for just the internet cable, and run direct to modem, and run the other to the 8 way splitter.
  13. I have the same card, and I like it a lot, let me stretch my agp system a little longer.. I play BF2 @ the highest settings with everything on, in 1280x1024 with no lag... You can also go into bios, and check what the AGP aperture size is set to... I've read different things about sizing it, but most say 128 is ok for 64mb-256mb cards.. I have it set to 256, which just allocates more system ram to video..Since I have 3 gigs of ram, I have some to spare.. For an AGP card, it's pretty damn good, IMO.
  14. Did you split one of the 4 pin connectors, and run power to the video card? What size is your power supply? It requires a 350 watt minimum. If your power supply is below 350 watts, there is your problem. You should have gotten a y-cable with the video card. Find a 4 pin connector with the least devices attached to it, and use the y-cable, and run one to your video card, and the other to whatever was originally hooked up. They should have included one of these... You should see the spot to plug in the cable on the video card... Looks like(and is) just a cd/ata drive power plug.
  15. Do you have digital cable? If you do, then the spitter is definitely your problem, but even if you have regular cable, a bad spitter could cause the problem...Your pc should be the first thing off the spitter. Meaning when the cable comes into the house, when it first splits, one line should go to the computer(modem). If you split the signal, then split it again before you get to the pc, you could run into problems. But have them visually inspect the wires at the pole by your house as well...When they checked ours, our neighbors cable wire fell to the ground(the insulation had been broke for some time), but somehow the wires kept touching.. Or it could be a congestion problem with the node you are on...If that is the case, there is really nothing you can do, other than complain, and get neighbors to complain as well... If you can, ask your neighbors who have cable if their speeds are slow as well...If they are also slow, it's most likey a saturated node.
  16. Download.com used to have a free scan that would find drivers for you...I don't know of any free ones now... http://driveragent.com Will show you for free which devices have updated drivers available, but you have to pay for access to the file download links. You can scan, and see what devices have updated drivers, and go from there..
  17. Yeah, you can tell which are the crap areas of Brooklyn/Queens just by looking at that map... Prospect Heights looks highly populated with sex offenders.. ---For anyone visiting NYC area...Any area/town that has "Heights" in its name...AVOID IT! Look out for a guy running around shooting Deputies, including K-9's.... Florida Police Search for Suspect Involved in Deputy Shooting http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,216346,00.html
  18. I say you wear both shirts...One over the other, then at lunch, take one off... But then the question arises...Which one do you put on first?
  19. Mine comes from my kicking electrics ass a few years ago... Ok, , it kicked my ass.. But it was only a TKO.
  20. Shug gets roasted again
  21. Wow, look at Queens/Brooklyn...You won't find this info in the tourist catalog..
  22. I installed it without a problem. I have dual boot set up now with x64 XP, and Vista x64. Had to re-enable my onboard nic, because my d-link nic card does not have drivers available. Also, I had to disable something in my network configuration to connect to internet..Checksum offloading(ipv4 ?)) or something..I'm not in Vista at the moment, so I don't remember where it was.. So far, it runs sweet. IE seems to load much, much faster in Vista. The only problem I have at the moment, is my Soundblaster X-Fi Platinum has no drivers...Only for earlier builds of Vista..I have tried everything, including standing on my head while its installing to get it to work, but no luck. I turned off the verification crap, as told to do so by Creative, but that did not work either...Seems they don't have drivers for the 5600 build just yet... If anyone knows where I can find drivers for Soundblaster X-Fi Platinum for Vista x64 build 5600, you would make my day.
  23. Congrats dlewis...If you see my friends in "married land"...Tell them I said "Hi".. Shug, looks like this kid is getting more than you...
  24. When I had cable, my speeds would vary greatly, so I would find the slowest average speed I had, and use settings for that speed. I found that while gaming, if I used a receive window that was too large, when I lagged, I lagged hard...By trimming down the receive window, I cut the lag down. If you have a stable connection, and your speeds don't vary, then it's not a problem. Example... I had 10/1 OOL Cable, but I would only get maybe 5MB at night..If I used settings for 10MB, I would lag like a mofo...But, if I used settings for 5MB, I would not lag as bad..I would lose a little in download speed overall, but the lag o meter was kept in check... Now with FIOS, my speeds are stable, and if I lag, it has always been the server lagging, and not me(so far..)...So I use the max settings. I'm not sure how stable your dsl speeds are...Check your speeds at different times during the day, and see if they are constant. If your speeds drop off at differrent times of the day, you may want to use settings for a slightly slower speed than advertised(for gaming at least).
