Unfortunately, this happens in just about every service field you can think of... I've seen guys sell people $7,000 worth of A/C equipment, when all that was needed was a $40 transformer... Anytime you bring anything in to be repaired, unless you know what is wrong with it to begin with, you are pretty much at their mercy...

It could be a driver conflict, bad memory, bad hd sector, and I've even had a bad HD cable give me BSOD's...Try the memory test first and eliminate that...

Did you run a registry cleaner recently? I had a registry cleaner do that to me, but I have x64 XP.. If you have the flash player in your add/remove programs list, uninstall it(I think its under adobe now). Then look in Windows/System32/Macromed/ for Getflash.exe(or you can do a search for it..include system folders in search options) If you have that in there, run that and then reboot...See if that works. The name may have changed, meaning its not Getflash.exe anymore..See if there is anything similiar in the Macromed folder and run it(it will be a little flash icon exe)

Try to lock your memory @ 333MHz in Bios, instead of 400MHz, and try the one stick... Are you sure you are populating the right slot, and is the ram Double-Sided(the 1 gig stick) ? It took me forever to figure it out, but my Asus board requires you to use Double-Sided ram if the module is over 512mb. My Asus board is also very particular on what which slot I use if I only use one stick, and it won't allow 3 sticks...Only 1, 2, or 4 sticks..Not 3..This is not an error either, it is just how the board is...It says it in the manual where it tells you which slots to populate. It does not have anything for 3 ram chips, only 1,2, and 4. Check the manual under memory, and see if there is a chart for recommended ram...See if it says "DS" next to ram chips 512mb and over...

I keep getting this error...I know the file is not too big(3.26KB)...For some reason it will let me upload sometimes, but most times it gives me an error.. My avatar went blank, and now I can't upload one... Is this due to the changes?

I have a Plantronics headset too, it does the same thing to me, I believe the problem is just that the mic is on under playback as well as under recording...Mine does this for some reason, and it creates an echo effect through the mic. Just make sure you make the mic visible under playback so you can mute it, and make sure the mic is checked under recording devices.... Edit: Make sure you are not using Mic2 port.....If you are, you will need to make that visible under Playback, and make sure it is muted as well.

I mean to mute the Mic only under Playback, not Recording...Are you sure you are muting the one under Playback and not under recording?

Control Panel/Sound and Audio Devices/Audio/Sound Playback(or Play Control)/Volume/Options/Properties/ --- Check "Microphone" so it shows up with a volume slider under Playback(or Play Control) and mute it.

Make the mic visible in your playback sound settings, and mute it..It is probably on under playback..Mine does that for some reason as well...

Do you have a dual core? Easiest way I have found to run 2 or more on same machine. Make 2 folders, Fah1 and Fah2. Place both folders in your Programs folder. http://www.stanford.edu/group/pandegroup/release/FAH504-Console.exe Download this to each folder. Create a shortcut to the desktop for each console(one shortcut for the Fah1 console and one for Fah2 console) Right click on shortcuts, and goto properties. Make sure the Target is modified so it looks like this: "C:Program FilesFah1FAH504-Console.exe" -local Basically just add the -local part. Do this to each shortcut. Now run one at a time, and follow the instructions. Make sure you give each one a different machine ID. I made one 8 and the other 1. I also run the full program at the same time as well, and it seems to run all 3 without a problem. Team number is 44352

I started it up again as well... Got a new dual core....Been running about 13s/Frame when I run one... I have been running 3 consoles at the same time on this machine..Then I only get about 25s/Frame, but I'm doing 3 @ 25 as opposed to 1 @13... I should have some measurable points soon...

It amazes me how long it took for information to flow through the ranks. It seemed that the average citizen retrieved the information faster than the government in charge of our safety. That is a bit scary.... I do believe the fact that a "drill" was supposed to be run that day only added to the confusion. I also believe the President should have left that classroom the second he heard the news.
