For some reason, I have not been able to complete an upload test in a long time.. It runs all the tests, but locks up, and doesn't go to results page.. It has done this for a while now, and it happens with both my x86 and x64 XP... Edit: I always forget about the dual monitors when I take a screen shot...

Worked fine for me...Hard to tell the difference in loading, with the fios, it doesn't matter what browser I use, they all load pretty much instantly. The only problem I have, is when I try to maximize the window on my second monitor..It goes half off screen...Haven't figured that one out yet..

What is this 800x600 you speak of? Right click on desktop/properties/settings

I know friends of the family that work for Verizon, and they use TMN to test the speeds, not the Verizon site

If that fails, I'll have a 68 with a 327 sitting in the garage...

Are these new hard drives? Go to - Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management and see if those hard drives show up in there. They may need to be set up.

Let me guess, you have cable? If it ony happens at night, and you have cable, it is most likely congestion on your node.

Just wondering, you never stated what kind of video card you have... Also, you stated you have a generic power supply..How many watts and how many amps? My last build did the same thing. It would just randomly shut off. It turned out to be the power supply(antec neo 550watt). The watts were plenty, but the amp rating was not high enough. Try going into bios, and go to the page where voltages are displayed. Watch the voltages, and see if they drop way off from time to time. Try to o/c it, and then look at the voltages in bios. Also check the idle temps in bios for your processor. See how high it is at idle. That should give you an idea on how much room you have to go before you overheat, if that in fact is the problem. I would not rule out the power supply, especially considering you stated it is a generic brand. Overclocking would tend to stress your psw a little more, and perhaps it was already sitting on the edge of failure, and the o/c just pushed it past it's limit.

Sounds like a virus/trojan/spyware... If you boot into safe mode, does it still use the same resources? Try running multiple online scans if you can. It is possible whatever virus/trojan you have may not be detected by your AV, or it has disabled it somehow. http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=svchost.exe Check that link out, if may help you better determine the problem.

I look at memory like HP in a car.. Do you really need all 400HP? If you like to put the pedal to the floor now and then, you probably would be glad you had it.

I had a quart sized glass bottle of OJ explode out of nowhere in back of my old car when I was like 18.. It had just a small amount of OJ in the bottle, and god is the only one who truely knows how long it was in the hatchback part of the car.
