  1. It's in the northwest US, in the Cascade Range. Interestingly, this area also happens to be one of the snowiest on earth. The Mt. Baker Ski Area in northwestern Washington had 1,140 inches of snow (almost 100ft! ) for the 1998-99 snowfall season. This broke the previous world record of 1,122 inches, set during the 1971-1972 snowfall season at Mt. Rainer.

Are you updating the lan drivers through windows update? I had a problem with one of thier lan drivers for my onboard. I had to get different drivers, and ignore their update. Are you still getting errors in your log too? What kind of NIC is it?
  3. The Daily Show is one of my favorites...So many great clips from that show.
  4. This image should be in "real time". http://www.fs.fed.us/gpnf/volcanocams/msh/ They are calling it a "minor eruption". But, you never know...You may catch the first images of a major one... The image below was from right after it first started to erupt today.
  5. That ROCKS! I play acoustic, but unfortunately it never seems to sound like that...
  6. Depends on what you are using it for... If you are using it for a lot of gaming, you are better off getting 2GB of low latency ram (CL2) as opposed to 3GB of CL3 memory. Thats my opinion at least..
  7. It's rare, but not weird. I have 3GB... I notice the difference when playing games and running a lot of applications at one time, but for everyday surfing it's overkill.

  9. Legalize it, tax it, and pump the money that was spent fighting it, plus the taxes on it, into the schools...

you can go here http://www.driveragent.com/ and run a scan. I'm not sure how much info they give you on the free scan, but I believe it should help you narrow it down a bit... I run x64 XP Pro, and they always have the best drivers, and the links for all of them...Helps me a great deal.
  13. IMHO, the Power Supply is one of the most overlooked piece of hardware that people have, and a crappy power supply will only cause you problems, and in some cases shorten the life of your components, or as my parents found out, can fry your motherboard when things go really bad... You can not have too big of a power supply, but you can have too little.
  14. And we knew what weapons we would be against, and what tactics would be used against up since in the 80's, we pumped tons money and weapons into Afghanistan, and pretty much trained them how to make IED's, which they used with much success against the Soviets. We were at war with the Soviet Union...Kind of.. The unfortunate consequence is that those weapons and tactics would eventually be used to kill our own troops...It's sad, but true.

  16. Yup....There is an ongoing study in the midwest, where they are planting different prairie grasses in vacant fields, cutting it regularly, and leaving the clippings...They are finding that it actually does absorb/store large amounts of carbon.

Probably was DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Looks like a driver problem... Try looking in Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/System - it should show you red exclamations(errors) in the list...You can double click on the errors, and follow the microsoft link to see if they have any info available. It should also help you to determine which piece of hardware or which driver is causing you problems.
  18. You can see the sunspot cycle in the avg global temperature graph...If you notice though, instead of going up and down in equal increments, the temp just goes up, peaks in 11 years, then drops a little, then back up even higher, etc... Stick that temperature graph on top of the co2/methane chart, and you will see a ~30 year lag in temperature increase after co2/methane increase. What a lot of people don't understand is that co2 lasts for an extremely long time in the atmosphere...The co2 we emitted 25 years ago is just starting to have an effect..The stuff you are spitting out your exhaust pipe now, won't be felt for up to 40 years..And, the co2 released will last in the atmosphere for 50 - 200 years. Methane is actually a much more powerful greenhouse gas than co2(10x more), but the reason it is not as much of a problem is that is only lasts about 12 years in the atmosphere, and its concentrations are not nearly as high as co2, but have been rising at a similar percentage. By burning fossil fuels, we are taking thousands of years of stored carbon, and tossing it into the atmosphere, while at the same time cutting down forests and trees that help to absorb that carbon. And when the trees are used as firewood, you are releasing that carbon as well. Hence, global concentrations of co2 have risen extremely fast. If you look at the co2 concentration graph, you will see little dips down every year. That is the spring/summer absorption of co2 by vegetation. If the cycle was balanced, the level would go up and down with the seasons, but would stay at one general concentration level. Perhaps we are in a natural "warm cycle", but I also believe we have greatly added to the warmth of this warm cycle, and IMHO, we have just begun to see the effects...
  19. The patriots who founded this country did not even trust the gov't they helped to create... The right to bear arms was basically a safety net for the citizens in case the gov't needed to be otherthrown.
  20. If your x-box is lagging as well as your pc, I don't think it is spyware slowing you down. More than likely, there are just a ton of people on your node at the moment. Probably a lot of people christmas shopping online that normally would not be at their pc.
  21. I actually almost got fired for not being dishonest...I finally quit the job because they wanted me to sell stuff that people didn't need, and they knew it..Basically they wanted me to find the actual problem, fix it, then replace another part(that they knew was in perfect working order). Fortunately, I found an honest shop, where I could go and repair things, most times without even having to replace any parts, just labor. We got many referals because of that fact. Most business owners were surprised how many times I would repair the units without using a single part...In my experiences, many problems are ones either caused by faulty install, faulty/loose wiring, dirt, and insect/animal...I've actually seen a earwig get stuck inside a contactor, spider webs inside relays, rats biting through wires, etc...
