  4. :haha: 15,000 -- sheeeeeeiiiiit by the end of the year we should be well over 50K registered users, and I actually expect a lot more than that because of the snowball effect (compounded traffic growth)... I would expect 15K right around 45 days from today - current registration growth is 75-100+ /day ~~ I can't even imagine what the site will be in two more years, it's already becoming a giant and ranking in the top 20K sites on the net (traffic wise) which isn't very easy to do... but I will tell you this, April was a month for me to transfer everything to the new servers, this is almost done... May/June I expect to put in MANY hours of scripting new tools and additions to the site, so stick around and as always tell people about the site. - Damon
  5. attachments will have a problem for some durring the DNS propegation by the way... usually take 48 hours to propegate to the new server ~~ about 12 hours in right now. DNS is wierd
  6. Good idea, I will see what I can come up with
  7. hehe, no I just posted that premature.. the query wasn't done yet... you should notice now that it's fast as a mofo ~~ I haven't even gotten to the point of tweaking the details of the server yet... still need to transfer
  8. Okay, score DB has been transfered. Some of you may have noticed the lag durring the transfer... I added about 1.2 million records to mysql so this is normal ~~ the worst is over (for you guys anyway) the rest should be smooth with little or no effect on testmy.net users - I'll keep this thread posted.
  9. It's going to get WAY faster.... or should anyway ~~ even under heavy load.
  10. the forum DB is only about 40MB (non-gzip) the score DB is about 250MB the forum images and attachments are a few hundred MB and the rest of the site (including some offline files of my own) is about 30GB ~~ it's a big transfer
  11. I have started the transfer to the new server's. I have picked up two new dual XEON 2.8 servers. At this point the forum database is transfered and currently running off the new server. I am currently transfering the score database but this may take some time to transfer because of the size of the database ( huge ). Once all the transfer is complete I will post here, but you may notice bits and peices of the site acting up... this is normal durring such an insane transfer
  12. That is happening today... no downtime is expected
  13. Ooops, I used the wrong account to post the...
  14. Have you added a firewall or any wierd programs lately?
  15. Son of a bitch.... tell them to get their asses to Phoenix Arizona.... let them know it's cool if they don't finish over in your city :evil6:
  16. lol, january we had just topped 1000 members.... pretty crazy how fast this site grows Thanks everyone.
  17. looks like your running below your advertised speeds then... I take it mach10 is a 10Mbps connection...
  18. Yeah, there is no such thing... the best you will get is an unmetered dedicated server... for a shitty server on 100Mbps you are looking to spend at least $2,000/month... on 10Mbps port is about $500/month. They may say UNLIMITED but if you read deeper they usually will say something in the fine print like "Unlimited until you get to 20GB of transfer" -- you are also on a shared server so your speed is degraded by others on the server (usually over loaded with 300% more users than the server should have... to save them $$$) ~~ but if you don't really have a high demand website, this crap may be only what you need. :evil6:
  19. Damn, they offer 8Mbps!! Yeah, I can't wait for FIOS too ~~ I will order in a heart beat, even if they 2X the price
  20. thanks.. I send the text to one of our members > (I think it was our member 'php') and told him what kind of car I have and he put it all together... came out pretty nice
  21. yeah, the averages are very high too https://testmy.net/host_stats.php?host=ufl.edu&notboolean=1&submit= 15Mbps download average overall for 'ufl.edu'
  22. Yeah, If I did something like this I would contact each member individually to ask if they would like to be listed... if I just added them it would be against my privacy policy. I haven't had a donation in a long time though, I may just take that off, lol.
  23. Yeah, not a bad idea. I will think about adding it
  24. What does that have to do with this thread?
