Hi Tommie, thats fighting talk to a Citroen man yeah I will give it that they were well built , something that Citroen had problems with, so bits fall of Citroen's , you just have to accept their Gaelic idiosyncrasies and have another glass of wine , My thoughts on the V.W.beetle , ( this will wake up a troll ) as a car design they went up a blind alley, The rear engine/drive never proved sucesfull, apart from Porche who still carry it on , the car had only 2 doors and a small trunk , (boot UK) the 1200cc engine produced no more power than the Citroen 2cv's 602 cc , the suspension was suited to the German Autobahn , and the ground clearance was poor, The 2cv was much cheaper and did 55+mpg had enormous ground clearance , 4 doors , sun roof, and well suited to the french farmer living up a goat track, many were used as dual purpose machines , Shopping at the market, and pulling the plough, There is much good natured rivalary between the VW and Citroen clubs in the UK , but we do help each other out in times of trouble, I went to a custom VW meeting and came back to the 2CV to find a string of onions hanging from the mirror P.S. I normaly drive a G.M. Vauxhall astra ( a exellent machine but boring ) IMHO

Hi Cholla , the Austin/Morris 1100 and later minis 67 on, had Hydrolastic suspension, it involved oil under gas pressure, the gas used to leak over time ,and required recharging , it never was a good system and the ride was poor IMHO, doubt if there is many 1100's on the road in UK , many failed there first test at 3y due to corrosion , they started flaking as you drove out the showroom LOL, the autobox sharing the engine sump and oil was another spectacular failure, metal from normal engine wear played havoc with the autobox seals and clutches , normal life span was 30,000 miles if you were lucky The Citroen System (1954 > ) is still being used, Rolls Royce also use it under license, and many Ambulances also, It is a complex system, and requires a engine driven pump and uses mineral oil , the suspension can be raised and lowered according to road conditions, this pump also supplies power steering, brakes , and on some, gearchanging , it gives the most amazing ride , Citroen's big difference to other cars is in it's suspension , even the little 2CV (1948> ) has mechanical interlink between the back and front wheels , so if the front of the car rises the back does the same to compensate, Traction avant LOL I have only owned two rear wheel drive cars, TR 7& Spitefire , I dislike driving RWD, very rare on UK roads , except for BMW , who haven't learned how to make FWD yet , LOL

Hi, intense, wellcome to the forum, I am sure you will find it usefull, Hi ,I just looked at your recent posts,( hoping you were from the UK, we are short staffed over here ) did you start the small biz. tuning internet connection speeds ?, sorry if my posting seemed a bit neg. but I tried that , at a different end of life's time scale, and got overwhelmed by reloading old puters, what operating system are you running ? with Xp you can make separate password protected accounts , and run children safe browsing, for the kids, but I have no experience or need for that, or so I thought I would be very interested in the posts , as I have grandchildren just starting out with their own computers , regards Roc UK

Thanks Starship....... I just don't get on with firefox, and the last 7 I used was a early beta, never did find the tabs but not a problem it runs ok on ie 6 , I will have another delve in Maxthon when I get time,

Hi Starship Troupers , thanks for the headup on inbox, just what i needed , and for a change * 5GB offer valid only for US, CA and UK residents * runs ok on I.E. but not on Maxthon , maybe I havn't fully explored the settings , anyone tried it on firefox or I.E. 7 ?

Hi Ryan During the Disc-ourse of our Disc-cusion , I was Disc-combobulated and Disc-omforted , that you Disc-losed my Disc-rededitable situation, this is something I must Disc-laim, as it is causing Disc_rimination and Disc-omfort to me totaly unexpected from such a Disc-cerning fellow member, So I will Disc-ount your in Disc-reet Dis-course , and Disc-ard it, I put it down to not enough Disc-ipline at home ,that is responcible for this Discreditable Disc-ord, I feel Disc-ouraged by this, and will Disc-onnect from this Disc-ussion feeling Disc-onsolate and Disc-ontented

there maybe several reasons for this , If your file system keeps getting messed up then you may be having hardware problems with the disk drive in which case you should install a new hard drive. but you could try to Boot from your Windows install CD, run Recovery Console ® and at the C: prompt run chkdsk., But I think the best thing to do at the moment is to wait and see what the Cav. come up with as I have never had this problem on XP , , Hey Karthic I gota go , it's 1 am UK and work today hope you get it sorted Regards Roco UK

hi Karthic I have had that on 9x o/s 98-Me and the omly way out for me, was to do a clean install, but if you are on XP have you tried doing a error check via my computer , it will run once on start up, if that dosn't work , wait for the Testmy.net Cav to arrive, regards Roco UK

on reflection "licking disks" the tongue has unique properties so maybe Maddoghunter has a point there, he may have revo-lutionized disk cleaning I am thinking of startining up a biz. "Have Tongue, will travel " Wow, what a disc-overy
