  6. I am in the process of upgrading my other computer [ when Intel stop screwing us around and make some more E8400's CPU and the internet stores stop price gouging us ] my second computer will get a upgrade to a AMD 4400+, then I will have two cores running folding @ home.
  7. I just got into the top 20 in folding for TMN two week ago. I got my second computer going 24/7 running folding @ home It is nothing special just a AMD 3700+ overclocked to 2406 MHz. It can usually run a 400000 step in less than two days [ around 36 hours ].

  9. The retail version usually come with a better warranty then the OEM version. If you are not going to overclock it I would go with the retail version. Gaming computer usually cost a lot of money to built right,I do not think you will make a lot of money on Ebay [but I could be wrong ]. Also there are alot of other people doing the same thing [like small computer business that can get the part needed to built a computer for less money then you will be able to get buying from a retail store ].
  10. I understand now. I do not know about using the 9800 for graphic intensive app. As for the price of top end card they are a lot cheaper then the 8800 was when it first came out. When ATI came out with their 3780 x2 for $ 499.00 ,I think it kind of limited what Nvidia could charge for their high end card, even tho the Nvidia card is a lot better card.
  11. EDIT: This price drop in the high end GPU, and only releasing a motherboard for AMD has to show that they are getting scared of what intel is doing. I may have misinterpreted what you meant here, but Nvidia did come out with a new chipset for a Intel chip. It call the 790i Ultra. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010200280+107172451+1071737989&name=NVIDIA+nForce+790i+Ultra+SLI They also have the 780i that came out not to long ago. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010200280+107172451+1071733949&name=NVIDIA+nForce+780i+SLI As for the 9800x2 that is a good price, but this card is nothing new. It is just two 8800 GTS join together and down clocked a little. This card is mostly for the Intel chipset motherboard owner that can not run SLI. Two 8800 GTS will run just as fast in most games as the 9800x2 and you can get them for $80.00 less. Cheaper with mail in rebates. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010380048+106792522+1067937879&name=GeForce+9800+GX2 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130325
  12. I just read on Digg that Microsoft just release Vista SP1,any of the Vista users here download it yet. If you did download it did it improve Vista any. http://digg.com/technology Scroll down to the bottom of the technology page you will see it there. It seem like only Apple release get to the top of the page.
  13. A lot of people are having good luck with the P 35 boards and you get one for a good price. I would try to stay away from the Nvidia 680 boards some of them have had a lot of problems. The 780 board just came out and have not proven how reliable they are yet ,but if you are going to go SLI in the future then the 780 the board you would want to get, if you do not plan on going SLI than get a P35 board.
  14. Do you have a firewall and anti - virus on the laptop ? Have you try connecting with the firewall and the anti- virus turn off. If it still does not work try reinstalling the drivers for the Linksys card and router with the firewall and anti- virus turn off first.
  15. Does it work when it hardwired to the router?
  16. You said you brought a Linksys wireless PCI card, have you try it in a different PCI slot yet? Are the PCI driver working correctly.
  17. Have your try to hook up to someone else router. This will at least tell you if it the router or the card that is having the problem.

  22. About 200.00 dollars more for the GTX The prices are coming down some and will probably be coming down some more next month when the new cards come out.,but there is still a big different in price between those two card.
  23. If you are talking about SLI a pair of 7300GT I think your money would be better spend on a better single card. Save up your money and get a single 3850 or for a better card and a little more money buy a 8800GT.
  24. From what I read the 3850 is a good mid range video card. It will play most of the games ,some will not be able to run on high setting. It a good card for the price range you are in. Any of the 3850 should be good ,But I think I would stay away from the Apollo card ,I never heard of them before.
  25. I just brought a 24 inch Samsung about a month ago and have no dead pixels. I never read anything about the amount of dead pixels and the size of the monitor making a different. The only problem I have is with my games. Time for a new video card. EDIT- That does sound right the more pixels the more the chance of getting a dead one, just like RTB said.
