Have you tied installing linux by chance? might want to try this.. control panel -> administrative tools -> computer management -> storage -> disk manager.. that should show all partitions on the disk..

The answer above is correct as far as the modem goes.. how ever you can network using USB or ethernet once you are off the modem.. Window Internet Connection Sharing is that you would be intersted in.

Dreamweaver defaults to the local location.. So.. until you upload your pages to a webserver.. they are not going to work on different computers.. even if you do you are going to want to check the links and make sure that they are mapped to the correct directory on the webserver..

A static IP will reserve that IP address for that MAC address and remove it from the pool of available address..

the entire point of being certified in something is so that if it blows up.. you can remake/recover/fix without the use of the original system or limited access.. Basically you should be able to take a computer and do everything with out using a IDE, intergrated design environment, or any automation.

My suggestion.. reformat... get all the extra crap that dell installs anyways off of the system.. After one of the reviews on their XPS systems came back really bad.. dell is moving to a limited/custom install on their high-end systems to keep problems like you are having from coming up on the gaming machines..

Here is what I have read around... most people get between 90kbps-250ish.. both of the modems are good.. i have the 5100 and love it on my comcast account.. You might want to check with RR to see what they think before you buy it.. I dont know their policy about users using their own equipment on their network. DLewis is right.. most of the ISPs have a self configure page that you can register a new modem on.. but I would still call just to get the ok.

are you using teak speak? Might want to check you sounds settings and maybe lower them to medium and see if that corrects the problem.. Running them on high with out a dedicated card might cause the problem..
