  1. I forgot about the epson products.. I have never had a lable peel off.. Even at 52x for an extended period of time.. I guess it would have to be uncentered??
  2. That is a third party program.. You shouldnt need it to run the card, unless it also control the SRX.. All you should need is the driver and the windows connection manager should take care of the rest.
  3. ahh.. you have v.23Sp1 installed? I am still running the original v.23 firmware.. That should help if your network needs a lot of routing or if you are running some of the more advanced features such as VoIP..
  4. yeah you would need a lightscribe enabled burner... for lightscribe it is a disk with a burnable surface on each side.. one for the data and one for the artwork. For the sicker method you can use just about anything you want.. I use nero's cover designer and Memorex lables.. If you are looking for a professional result then Lightscribe is the way to go.. However, it doesnt allow for a color lable
  5. You can raise the transmit power on the router to boost range.. that is about all of the "overclocking" you can really do.. However, with the increase in power through the radio.. you need to watch the heat that is produced. Many have installed fans to combat it.. I have yet to really play with the power settings.. I am 99.9% positive that you have to have the same router to do WDS.. I have tired with a Dlink router and my dd-wrt and it didnt work out.. as far as I know WDS is a not a standard meaning that each manufacture can offer it but it doenst have to play fair with the other manufactures gear.. I will look into it if you are intersted.. But again I think it needs to be DD-WRT to DD-WRT..
  6. I dont know.. the way the industry is moving it seems that both AMD and Intel are moving to low heat, low clock cycle, high performance processors on advanced architectures.. I think Intel might have just produced a water cooling or alternative cooling kit for some cpu.. I am going to have to search for it but I remember something a while back about it. As far as the D805.. this is an awesome chip.. To bad you cant really get it from anyone anymore..(Like dell, gateway) The only real down fall is that fact that you have to use the new 975x which right now is running high 190s and low 200s to get these types of speeds..
  7. Are you talking about a wifi card or a router... if it is the card download the drivers and go into device manager and do a update driver.. that should remove the crappy OEM drivers that MS ships with XP... If it is a router issue.. there is nothing on that CD that will help you with anything like rammolo already pointed out.. It is basically a setup guide for people who know just about nothing about wifi network but want to set on up.. I think it help with the encryption and setting the SSID... I never used mine but that is what the instustry is moving toward..
  8. ahh.. got a good old v5? otherwise it is just like upgrading a normal router..
  9. it is now possible to run on v5.. but you have to build a special cable and flash with the mini version.. and it is a hell of a lot harder.. http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?title=Flash_Your_Version_5_WRT54G
  10. yeah the mx1000 is really nice.. i have had mine for quite a while and love it!
  11. yeah.. the current version on the linksys router has problems with bt traffic.. which can lead to an unstable router.. see here
  12. I love it.. no problem.. yes.. there is a guide, http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-12222 , on how to do it.. It is more stable and give you tons more options with what you can do with it. I use the DD-WRT version.. there are a few other but some of them cost money and are harder to install.. requiring a sftp install..
  13. not a problem..
  14. Everything looks solid once you get out of your ISP's network.. I would call in with a new tracert with and without the modem and tell them that you are dropping packets from these routers: host-70-45-32-1.onelinkpr.net [70.45.32.1] host-70-45-94-37.onelinkpr.net [70.45.94.37] host-70-45-94-101.onelinkpr.net [70.45.94.101] host-70-45-94-105.onelinkpr.net [70.45.94.105] If you give them the IP address the issue will be resolved faster.. After that sprintlink, i am not sure if that is still part of the local network or not, but you are still loosing some packets there.. At the end of the tracert you are hitting a router that doesnt allow ICMP traffic so you are getting no responce.. that is perfectly normal as long as you can get to the site. The fact that you are also dropping packets on the first hop might mean that your modem is a bit out of wack.. so they might want to send out a tech... And the fact that you are so far from your speeds so what points to a signal level problem.. Just give them a call. there is nothing you can do about signal levels if that is the case..
  15. it might not be physical speed that Intel is going for.. it might be architecture.. The speed race of the '90-'00 is pretty much over since AMD Athlon came out.. Now it is about the architecture and heat.. There was also rumors that with the launch of AM2 AMD is going to launch new chips.. It is expected that it could give about a 10% speed increase.. Likewise Intel still has conroe coming out in 2 months..

if you paid $200 bucks for that you got ripped off.. you can get it at Bestbuy for 129.. which means that you can get is online for about $100 or less.. Currently the x1300 is ATIs budget card... Unless you are going to drop $400 on a new card stick with Nvidia.. you can get a PCI-E 6800 for under $200 right now.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814133155 or a 7600GT for $209.99 http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=322772 Even better 7600GT XXX http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321058 review.. http://www.legitreviews.com/article/312/1/
  17. Dell is a good place to start.. you are going to have to drop some more cash to get a video card on the dell system but they do have some great buys... I would say way from the low-end intergrated graphics stuff.. There are a few machines out there with x200s and some of the more modern Nvidia chip intergrated into them.. I would look at those. Tigerdirect always has a good selection on refurb machines.. you can get an Athlon 64, 1 gig ram, 200gb hd, Dual Layer dvd-rw, and Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200.. for 399 after 100 mail in rebate..
  18. that looks way too fast for insight.. but if it is for really cool deal..

Disclaimer: testmy.net and its mods are not responsible for any damage to hardware, software, systems, or bodily harm if you decided to attempt this. That being said.. I am pretty sure that omega drivers has an oc utility built in.. Radlinker? Otherwise you can get it anywhere online.. Nice card!
  21. Depending on the traffic to your website there are a few options.. Startlogic would work.. but if you are going to require a fast route to your users/customers then I would not go with them.. Their backbone is a bunch of consumer grade ISPs.. When you are looking for a dedicated/shared server the most important aspects are the backbone providor and hardware. looks like 1&1 has the best backbone out of the three options that have been brought up..

    DRIVERS

Yeah.. either way they are going to have to load the OS on the computer.. they choose to put the OS on the secret partition.. which is stupid.. cause you cant get it off and install a licence of the OS that you own on to another computer.. Now dell is charging $10 for the physical cd..
  23. it depends.. I am using a pre sp1 version of XP pro.. so they might have built some newer policies into the SP1 and later releases..
  24. Even switching computer.. from an intel centrino to a AMD athlon.. didnt make a difference..
  25. it doesnt really matter.. You call the local number.. and you are going to get sent some where in the world where labor is cheap.. It shouldnt be an issue.. I have reinstalled windows XP pro so many time and I have never had to call in for activation..
