  1. from what i have read.. it looks like it either works great.. or doesnt work at all. http://www.microsoft-watch.com/article2/0,2180,1967346,00.asp http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12932382/
  2. my last day of school was 3 weeks ago..
  3. the WPC 300N is still a draft device.. I think around the holidays consumers will start to see the first fully complient devices roll on to the market.. and they are not going to be cheap.
  4. the last time I checked.. my ping times on att's backbone were piss poor.. and we are still way behind japan and china in terms of internet connection speed... Those two companies can pretty much shove it.. I am sorry that google is making more money that those two companies.. but they are also paying for their connections to their data centers..
  5. look for the HP driver.. I have seen somethink like that on old laptop when the touchpad is really worn in.. it just kinda moves by itself.. driver might help or the touchpad is just shot.
  6. doubt it.. when you use pppoe you are basically establishing a connection like 56k.. your ip will never change until you disconnect.. The only way that I can think of is to see if you ISP offers static IPs, which cost $$, for the dsl service that you are on. Otherwise try not to reset your router..
  7. that is about the only one that will have those types of speeds.. 802.11n will when the standards are finally set and consumer stuff is out..
  8. what model motherboard do you have? Have you check for new bios updates to fix this sort of problem?
  9. yeah.. what equipment you are using would help a lot.. I cant really think of a reason that the router wouldnt allow VPN traffic on the the wlan..
  10. looks pretty good.. still the permissions is going to be a pain.. and i am not sure if i like the new start menu thing.. maybe they will have a classic setting.. anyone want to place bets when the first security issues on this new os is found?
  11. Yeah.. one of the articles points out that AMD most likely still has something up their seleves to combat conroe but it isnt going to be release til later this year.. my guess would be october... that seems to be when AMD likes to do things if i remember correctly.
  12. The first hardware reviews of the new AM2 platform.. not as great as hoped.. http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTA2NSwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA== http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/328
  13. 38mb is the total bandwidth.. I am not sure you would ever get to see that outside of a lab.. Like php said it depends on the node and traffic on the ISP's network.. I know that back in the day, late 90s, you could get about 10mbps down and 3 or 4 up on att@home..
  14. 1001fonts.com That is where i get my extra ones.. Ray nice sig!
  15. looks like the host has an IPv6 router available.. I am sure CA3LE will look into it.. I might be for their new internet service..
  16. did you by chance upgrade your firmware over wifi? if you are still not getting an IP address release to the computer then I would reset it again.. Hold it for like 5 seconds.. let the router boot then power cycle it. hahahha old school.. like first generation..
  17. you could set up a vpn it looks like.. I doubt proxy would work in this case.. as it looks like this acts as a web proxy on a server so all out bound traffic has to go through it.. If they have the VPN protocols allows then VPN would be fairly easy to setup on a windows box at home and then at school.. assuming the other machines are not restricted by user policies.. see post above..
  18. depends on the model.. some are mATX... so they only have 3 pci slots.. and not AGP/PCI-E slot.. I think most of the newer ones are ATX.. either way you can put a mATX motherboard into a ATX case.. Nice heat sink.. zalman is one of the best if not the best..

    Direct X10

yeah.. vista only Which doesnt really make all that much sence.. Cause a majority of the people, including gamers, are going to stay on the XP platform for quite a while until all of the driver and hardware issues are resolved... Which means that all of the new graphic cards that support DX10.. are not going to be able to perform at full capacity... Kinda dumb..
  20. Insight is in the process of upgrading their back bones so that they dont get killed by Fios.. here in IN we are starting to see the improvement.. but as always there is some down time here and there.. we will see what happens.
  21. no i have yet to flash it.. I would flash down to .v23.. My roommates are using the connection
  22. alright.. let me flash mine up and give it a try.. have your rebooted the router since you flashed it?
  23. There was a new version release on the 16th it looks like that fixed this problem..
  24. sorry about the double post.. but from what it looks like pre rc6 sp1 this function had problems.. get the final release and the problem should go away.. when did you flash your router?
  25. It shouldnt release fast enough if this is just a temp setup.. if this is going to be used often.. then yeah statics are a must..
