there have been a lot of mods based off that case.. It is a decent looking case to begin with.. It might be the bare bones of some of the older Sun Microsystems cases before they added all of the extra plastic.. It looks almost the same..

Difference between 2 AMD processors...??
Swimmer replied to CaptainSauce's topic in General Discussion
AMD advertizes it at their gaming chip where as the X2 is their "main-stream" this is what I was able to find atleast on the benchmarks side.. as far as gaming goes.. you are going to be looking at about 15-25 fps faster on some games with an FX-60 -
that is a nice notebook.. i would wait a few more weeks on dell and hp though.. just around time the college kids start to buy is when the pricing really get good.. I remember once last year they offered up to 45% off on the 6000.. That is still an awsome laptop! I love the price also.. finally laptops are getting to the price point of some desktops.. and the decision is finally the consumers on which to buy. The only word of warning is that you are not goint to see the battery life that you would see on a Intel Centrino machine or even a Turion based laptop. Turion is AMD's answer to the Centrino..

Well here is my opinion.. Mac is having quality control issues right now on the laptops that run Windows, i guess batteries are becoming an issue for some user and the heat problems are still around.. and until they move the G5 over to Intel I would wonder what is the point? If you are going to want the latest and greatest in any sense of the term.. Apple is not going to be it.. Microsoft control something like 80-90% of the OS market.. meaning that game, apps, and utilities/hardware are going to be written/built to run in a native windows environment.. With AMD saying that they are going to kill the 754, 939 and some of the AM2 platform soon I would look into maybe building a system.. again. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-14858 AMD is currently the leader in the CPU market for desktops.. with Intel highly anticipated Conroe processor due out soon that might change.. however, the current AMD chips should be decent enough to run vista and everything thing else that your heart could ever want to..

Yeah.. brock01 hit in on the head.. with a preloader the load times will be almost instant.. that is how IE works.. explorer.exe is always running on your system.. hit IE.. it references that process and then loads a bunch more stuff into that process..

connect remotely? like vpn? more detail of what you are trying to do would be helpful..

AMD is phasing out the 939 and 754 platfom, in favor of the AM2, processors by the end of July.. Meaning that there are going to be some good buys coming up in the next few months..

most cities sign contracts for ISP to do business.. I know it took for ever for me to get Comcast where I lived cause the damn city government didnt want to give in.. Once they did the service spread like wildfire.. If the neighbor is that close why not set up a wifi link.. offer to split the cost of the broadband, maybe even upgrade the connection.. -
that look like a really good choice.. just a little over 6lbs.. Yeah.. like dlewis said.. cnet seem to be a bit bias to neat features and performance.. Most of the time if you look at what the users say they rate the product higher than the original "expert"..

you might want to try tweaking your connection first before you decide to drop money on a new router.. If you tweaked before then you are going to need to apply new setting anyways.. If you do decided to get a new router.. For about $50 you can get the WRT54GL which is part of the famous WRT54G line from Linksys.. Dlink also offers the gaming router DGL-4300.. which is going to be the faster consumer level router.. that is going to be about $120..

yeah a call would be a good idea.. looks like your signal might be a bit out of wack.. check your filters on your phones just to make sure they all of them have a solid connection.. The other thing you mentioned and I am slightly confused about is the USB and ethernet connection from the modem? ALWAYS use ethernet no matter what.. USB was never intended to be a networking technology for high speed internet..
-
That technology is still getting is legs under it.. I was able to find this.. I doubt that it will be all that fast until another generation of modems comes along.. The great thing is that the infrastructure is already in place for the network.. As far as speeds go.. http://www.current.net/ServiceAndPricing/Residential/Broadband/PricingAndBenefits/ Earthlink is looking into this technology pretty heavily.. so I wouldn't be supprised if you would see Cable/DSL like speeds at some point..

yeah.. well that is what happens.. It was a good series that is for sure.. -
Yeah.. like richcornucopia said.. as long as it has the Visa logo they should take it.. I know for a fact that a debit card with the Visa logo works on newegg.. so I dont see why that shouldnt.
-
it would be inside.. I know you can block from wifi.. part of the security scheme to prevent DoS on a wifi system.. If it is hard wired.. that is going to be a bit harder to trace down.. For some reason I thought that my old Dlink 624+ didnt respond to tracert either.. I am looking on my wrt54g to see if I can duplicate anything like that and I have yet to find anything even close..
-
I think your router doesnt respond to ICMP traffic on the LAN side.. u have a dlink router?
-
all routers are switches when you turn off the DHCP server..
