It shouldnt decrease strength i dont think.. it will decrease overall throughput.. There are a lot of factors that effect wifi.. antennas can be one of them... You could try and switch them.. They may have different connectors so it might not work out.. but it is always worth a try.

what version are you running? v.23sp1? Also make sure that you clicked enable... as you can add things but they may not enable them..

Ram would be my first pick.. Then video card.. then motherboad/cpu.. the 6600 is getting a little out dated.. and from what it sounds like you have a fairly new motherboard. 3ghz single core still has a lot of life left in it. Unless you are dying to go dual core I would invest the money into a Video card or more ram.. I would say 1gb - 1.5gb would be a good amount for a gamer at this point.. If you are running dual channel then you might want to look at 2gb.. How much are we talking about here?

My guess is that there is a bios update for it.. Dell had a simular problem on the 8200 series a while back with fan dying due to over use.. Compusa should be able to fix it.. it might require a new chassis.. but shouldnt take to long to fix..

the phase out of 754 has been planned for a while and the time has finally come! With the launch of AM2 in early June/late May the plan was to move all of the desktop processor to that platform and leave the 939 for the budget and low power chips..

I never got mind.. so who knows.. my guess is since it was slashdot'ed and dugg MS pulled the plug on the program

try these drivers www.omegadrivers.net If i remember correctly Doom3 runs better on nvidia boards.. It was designed for the NV40.. some one might want to check that.. but I am pretty sure on that..

mean that you cant swap processors.. different socket types.. atleast from what I can see.. You might not see that much of a performance increase as roco pointed out.. It look like you could drop in a 3.0 northwood or processor on the 478 platform

then it was fine.. that is the whole point of prime 95.. to get the CPU up 100% for an extended time

did you just get comcast? if there are a bunch of numbers instead of a ISP name.. it means that that IP just came online.. So it has yet to be registered..

hibernation it will cause you are physically turning off the computer and saving the desktop/active memory on to the hard disk.. Standby should work as long as the hard disks are not shut off.. From what I have seen is that most bittorrent programs dont allow the computer to go into standby.. they allow the monitor to go to sleep and then turn off.. but the computer never gets into full standby.

might want to try these people.. http://www.passmark.com/ I would run the burn in test on Sandra, passmark, or Prime 95 over night.. This way if anything fails it will do it now.. Just make sure that the cooling is working properly..

Try getting some compress air and shooting it into the center of the fan.. If that doesnt take care of it.. well that fan is most likely about to die.. Not a big deal.. You are just going to need to monitor you temps or replace the power supply.

alright.. try hijack this and a spyware scan in safe mode to make sure that you got rid of all of the crap..
