  1. I don't really like the idea of web based apps, besides a few things like webmail, etc. I still prefer to have a copy of the program physically on my computer. I don't really see any advantage in using Word over the net better than using it locally, other than possibly being compatible with more computers and OS's.

  4. Well there's not much you can do. You could complain to your ISP and have them check it out, but I doubt that would help. Since the problem seems to be in your route to the site, those are the hardest problems to fix.

  14. Anything using the 2.4Ghz range could be interfering with it. Microwaves, cordless and sometimes cell phones, or even other routers.

Highlight everything in the box with your mouse or click in the box and press Ctrl+A. Then Press Ctrl+C, to copy the test. Create a new post and press Ctrl+V to paste your speed test results into your message. If you need more help, feel free to ask.

  19. Knowing your home LAN address (192.268.x.x wouldn't do him much good. He can't access your LAN. Yes he could see your public internet IP address though.
  20. For net access, it probably doesn't really matter. If you want to continue to recieve Windows Updates than you have to upgrade to SP2 otherwise you won't be able to get anymore updates.
  21. I use Y! IM the most. I like it the best over all. Although, I've used MSN a little. Webcams seem faster on MSN. I say meh to AIM and ICQ.

  23. Try testing your speeds without your router. Sometimes the router can cause problems.
