  1. yo becman. thanks for the sig you made for me. i owe one from you man.
  2. definitely uTorrent. standalone, lightweight/low resource usage. http://www.utorrent.com/ this will help: http://www.johntp.com/2006/04/19/how-to-increase-download-speeds-of-utorrent/
  3. @coffeeman12. welcome to tmn and congratulations for having a much improved speed.
  4. that's it. i am also using open dns. i can see a word which says "open" right after the last 4 digits of my ip. still has to confirm if this case applies to elvin.
  5. hello elvin, 1) first we'd like to know, if it says average 241.176, are you using open dns or proxy? and what is that proxy if in case its a proxy? 2) if it says, average smartbro, are you using the "obtain an ip address automatically" and "obtain dns server address automatically"? its possible to have a 670 kbps connection but will never be consistent because smartbro is wireless which has intermittent (irregular) speed.
  6. we are both lucky today huh?
  7. what did you do to convince them that your canopy antenna has to be replaced 3 times?
  8. i have experienced the same situation about a couple of weeks ago. i wasn't able to play my favorite online game because of the frequent disconnections. it happened after a lighting storm hit our subdivision. in fact, several tv sets from the neighborhood were damaged and their tv antennas broken. luckily my canopy antenna survived. the sad thing is the csr did not believe me when i called to inform them of this matter and why my connection was intermittent for the last three weeks.
  9. how long have you been experiencing this?
  10. you're welcome. we'll be glad to read updates from you sir. enjoy your stay at tmn.
  11. sounds familiar...
  12. that's good news. what router could that be?
  13. you said it! it's just your guess! there's no harm in trying boy!!! :cheesy:
  14. this is a positive development. and we welcome it here.
  15. you are a blessed guy. if they're offering you 15K and your current salary is thrice the offer, it means you are receiving 45K. wow. here's a silly and unsolicited advice: why don't you just let the technician drop by and let him sit down and watch you. you fix the canopy config yourself heheheeee
  16. the possible cause could be the increasing number of users (usercount) in the same AP that you are connected.
  17. yes there's plenty of RJ-11 plugs available in the market. if i'm not wrong, there are 4 kinds of RJ-11 plugs based on pins. there is a 2-pin, 4-pin, 6-pin and 8-pin plug. the most common are the first two. the 6-pin RJ-11 is the one we use for the canopy override/default plug.
  18. your aggregate is 1000 kbps. so if you are setting one throughput at 500, the other thoughput will retain the value of 500 even if you increase it to a higher value. try to change the value for DL = 800 and UL = 200, the total of which is 1000 right? so its gonna work. save and initiate canopy reboot.
  19. nice to know that. it could be useful for others too.
  20. not the mods but a fellow member. with the advices of some mods esp momma t, its already a closed book.
  21. yeah its true, no question on that. its just that the material itself (6-pin telephone plug) is hard to find. it took me about two weeks to find the supplier.
