  1. your speed is not as beautiful as you are. read the thread on How To Tweak and 20 steps on How To Make SmartBro Faster. Good luck!
  2. scan for viruses, trojans, unused apps., in short clean you PC. must do the trick if not, we'll find a solution.
  3. i understand. now you're sticking with the 400 club. keep it up.
  4. be careful because their system logs your phone number and you might not be answered the next time. when they put you on hold, its either: they ask their supervisors what to answer or read their scripts for the rebuttal nyehehe
  5. the torrent tracker sites log the seeders and peers. however, if few of them are available during your download and upload (PCs or uTorrents are turned off), you will have less for both dl and ul.
  6. yesterday, aug 8th, was the worst in smartbro speed history. i even got 67kbps for DL. my base station went off for 20 hours, but now its back. i will speed test later if base station is already stable.
  7. both can be used. however there are settings that must be left untouched. try to search in the thread for ccleaner. read the posts of tm.n veterans there.
  8. good luck. dont forget to post your score afterwards.
  9. On the afternoon of August 8th, i noticed that my browsing is very slow. i tested the speed at tm.n and it gave me an awful 67kbps on DL. i already knew that the base station nearest me is down and in trouble. but, i still called smartbro customer care to inquire the status of the base station. i dialled *1888 on my smart cellphone, pressed 1 for smartbro, pressed 4 for "technical concerns". i already knew they will never answer but i kept on waiting. after 5 minutes of waiting in oblivion, i dropped the call. i thought of something. i dialled *1888 again, pressed 1 for smartbro, but this time i pressed 1 for "new applications" and presto! in 20 seconds somebody answered my call. i pursued on my query. i told the operator that since nobody's answering on the number for technical concerns i am placing my inquiry on her. she checked my connection and gave me the usual answer: that the base station is having a technical problem and it was temporary and blah blah blah blah. she noticed that i was laughing in the background so she asked if that was all, i said "yes, nothing more, thank you". basically, theirs is bad business. if somebody calls for complaints its gonna take a decade before they answer or not at all. when someone calls to apply they answer in speed of a bullet. do you have an exp with smartbro customer care? post it here!
  10. Being right infront of the smart cellsite (smartbro base station) doesn't assure you of better speed. you might have a clear "visual line of sight". however, this does not mean that you have a clear "radio line of sight. We need a "radio line of sight." Radio line of sight differs slightly from visual line of sight. Our signal can pass through various types of buildings and obstructions, (depending on your distance from a base station), so you may be able to get service even if you can't see the antenna. Also there are other factors which affect speed. Viruses, trojans, excessive opening of programs while browsing the internet. So clean your PC before speed testing. Also, remember that its wireless internet which is susceptible to even the most basic device such as a phone, or a monitor that operates at 2.4GHz. The interference usually is not noticeable.
  11. try to skip if it asks for a router or choose any router from motorola from the list updated from portforward.com as i posted before, i just forwarded ports used by p2p clients most particularly uTorrent. comodo firewall is far better than the default windows firewall. however, you have to disable entirely the latter to avoid conflict. with comodo, its easy to allow uTorrent ports or block high severity events by protocol analysis. i advise you to use a port above 40000 but not more than 60000
  12. no problem! its really nice to see smartbro subscribers who share happy moments together and not just complain about anything...
  13. @snip07 that's good to know. but you can have better. pls answer my queries in the other thread. thanks.
  14. Kindly answer the ff: 1. did you tweak already? 2. what is your operating system? 3. your antivirus, antispyware, firewall? 4. all other softwares/programs in your system. 5. your location & distance from smart cellsite (smartbro base station)
  15. common fonts used are arial and segoe ui. try them.
  16. actually, as long as smartbro is giving me a nice speed flow, i'll stick with it. i have spoken to a smartbro executive and she told me they will be upgrading base stations after they are done with base stations in key cities. in selected areas in Davao, i have noticed they are already giving a max of 512 kbps in & out burst. unfortunately my area is not covered yet. also, i have proposed to them thru email that i can be a test subscriber for a SendFar "re-test" drive. sounds interesting right?
  17. I'd like to share to you my secret of getting satisfactory speed. it's not cablenut. no of course, not even comodo & avast combi. you know what it is? PATIENCE. i've been reformatting, tweaking and have shutdown my PC for a thousand times until i reaped off the fruit of my sacrifices...but i could not have done it without being persistent. take it from me. i got promoted to TMN Friend a while ago.
  18. thanks so much guys. now i thought of something better. maybe we can get together for a glass of beer sometime if schedules allow. hmmm?
  19. I saw other fora who have a whole bunch of disappointed smart bro subscribers. don't you think we have to invite them here @ tm.n to save them from their nightmares?
  20. congratulations! well, i think we have to buy some coffee for whoever is worth it, don't you think so?
  21. its PFConfig where you can forward ports that are being used by uTorrent. windows firewall is not reliable so i disabled it and used comodo firewall pro instead. the screenie is shown on the thread i created entitiled "My Desktop Screenshots".
  22. correct. but sometimes i kinda miss the posts of tm.n friends like jun101ph, gourame and the rest who had better inputs.
  23. like what i said before, the disgruntled smartbro subscribers are like sand while satisfied customers are a basket of apples. i will just wait for pldt mydsl to reach our place. i've heard we are in their priority list. they offer 512 Kbps minimum. pretty cool!
  24. in my own opinion, SendFar was put out of the picture because they lost in the bidding as contractor supplier for SmartBro antenna. it appears that due to its long range capability, SendFar is a little expensive than Canopy. because SmartBro wanted to capture the masa market, they will surely use affordable antenna right? this however is subject to verification.
