lol i have no idea. I have a friend in OHio who and it says he gets his internet from georgia. And i dotn know why it goes to washignton, but routing is crazy like that. Alot of websites i have traced will go to WA, then ALLLLLL the way to cali , just to come back to newyork , where the server is located O-o i have no idea why it has to travel that much. and vanburen, no im not ona wireless conection, im running wired, cat-5 , router settings @ max 11 mbps

[ on the old celery ] If i maxed out any of the settings id connect to servers, but as soon as players joined id get 0 fps and the comp would restart.. so.. no i like my 800 x 600 reolution with the massive 16 bit colors. So,.. 34.3 fps is plenty for me!

My first 3 hops or so are pretty....damn high.. But as it goes along its route goes down. My question would be is is it normal to have high first hops, and if not, could it be effecting speeds like... alot or not realy.. [ hops ] http://s1pwnsyou.camaroz.net/testmy/hops.jpg

i think like vanburen said, the test files are too small. Its not "slow" just your connection gets faster over time, instead of super large burst drom the beginning.

Nvidia > ATI [ insert 3 page long specs and links like everyone else.......here ] oh and i have a nvidia 5200 right now and iv yet to see a problem with it. so "horrible" ?nah.. Iv played counterstrike, as well as source, doom3, battlefield vietnam, HL2, farcry, etc on my 5200. On normal settings. No need for SUPER ULTRA OMGZ0RZ HIGH DETAIL PLAZMA SETTINGZ!

If anythign the router should boost your speed. Because routers are a relay, it keeps boosting the connection. Im using the linksys wireless b router right now (wired, of course) and get about 3.3 mb/s. When i connect directly to the modem i get about 2.9. Their realy isnt anythign worth tweaking in the router settings, unless you can find the maxMTU option, in which case you should set it to `1500. Thats about it
