  1. There are a variety of things that could be affecting your speed - at your place or externally (local connections, at your ISP, or on other legs of where your traffic is coming and going). Give your ISP a call. Be polite, patient, and persistent. They should be able to help out. It may take more than one call.
  2. What's your ISP plan advertised speeds up and down?
  3. You can manually remove a test point result. Go to Results. At the right side of the table, there's check boxes and a remove function. not sure how your extreme data point happened. @CA3LE may have an idea.
  4. When you auto test, TestMy keeps upping the file size until it takes about 5 seconds for the download or upload. That way there's enough time over which to calculate throughput correctly, without it taking longer than necessary. If if you want to set a fixed file size, run the test manually and pick the file size.
  5. @CA3LE ill let you answer this. In general I know what it means.
  6. Tell us a little tale more about the issue. Where are you? What is you IPS plan max? are you using wireless or Ethernet?
  7. Are you using wireless or Ethernet? If wireless, try plugging directly into your model with Ethernet. This would eliminate any wireless issues. the Sky Broadband average download here on TestMy is 15.6 Mbps. Some users speeds are quite a bit better than you and some are quite a bit worse. I don't know if that's because they are on different ISP plans or some of their users have issues.. i would call them, and tell them that your real speeds appear to be 1/2 of your plan. Be polite and patient. Even if they just run you a quick OOKLA abased speed test that shows you're at full speed and tell you there's no issue, call them back until they start really trying to help you troubleshoot.
  8. When I look at your test results, it looks like you're connected to the closest server. So that's not an issue.
  9. How far from the TestMy test server are you?
  10. What speeds are your ISP advertised max?
  11. zbuckone - My apologies. I skimmed over your post too quickly, and failed to notice that the image wasn't yours. I only do this very part time. And LOL on "I'm working on my meaningless bullcrap"
  12. Pokoman and zbuckone. Stop posting Speedtest data. It's meaningless bullcrap.
  13. Are you using wireless or Ethernet ?
  14. Try the New York TestMy server. It really shouldn't be radically different than testing from Chicago to Dallas.
  15. Your TestMy data says you used the Dallas server. Where are you located?
  16. Not sure where you're located. Not sure what you ISP plan max speeds are.
  17. I'm getting about total 50 mSec (typical) delay along the route to NY from Cincinnati - some 500+ miles. My test results are always about 70 down and 5 up on a 60/5 plan at Spectrum Time Warner. Your OOKLA test is likely testing to a server within 10-50 miles of you, that's why your delay is only 10 mSec. So it's not really testing your internet performance. They also throw out drop outs and low speed data when they give results. Look at Speed Test Legitimacy in the Extras pull down - multiple tabs to read. if you select TID in your Results table, you can see what each individual download test did over time
  18. If you have a router that is separate from your modem, try plugging directly into e Ethernet port on the modem
  19. Looking at your download, it was bad in the middle of the night (1:45 AM). Try plugging a laptop directly into your modem. If your speeds are still bad, call Comcast. Be polite but persistent (keep calling them back if they don't find anything). You could search this site for any info on PlayStation speed issues.
  20. Keep calling them. Be polite but persistent. Find as many other people with this issue and ask them to call in too.
  21. If you have an Ethernet connection on your device, try running a test with a cable plugged directly into the modem. Which TestMy test server are you using?
  22. Your TestMy data shows your real speeds are far less than the incorrect results that Speedtest gives you. this site can help you troubleshoot your system and internet connection. Do some more testing here using single test servers and do some multi thread testing and post the results.
  23. Run a test with TestMy's tools and find out what your real speed is. Speedtest.net isn't telling you what your speed is. your TestMy test data shows a large variation with results between 10 and 40 download.
  24. What TMN test server are you using?
  25. OK. I understand now. It's certainly not right if your ISP's performance is so far below their advertised speed.
