I forgot ping .On the test I took the ping would be to my ISP's server since they block ping to me.They say this is to protect me from DOS(Denial of Service) attacks...I had one ISP that didn't block ping but they were very slow for some reason.I'm not completly satisfied with the one I'm using now.But they will do while I'm looking for another one.I have been checking a few out but I'm taking my time. One plus of the one I use now is their e-mail has never been down. The tech staff doesn't respond very well to e-mail.They prefer a call but you can't send printed info on a call.Giving them proof of tests; etc. I think this is why they prefer a call. But for those that can ping it would be a nice addition too.

justinlay & anyone else I know Voltageman warned of this but I'm going to put it where it can't be missed. TURN OFF ALL ELECTRICITY TO THE UNIT BEFORE YOU WASH IT

If it is a 2.5 ton then it might be a little too small. Interesting that oversizing will not cause ice up. & you say the air intake should basically be located high on the wall & not near a supply vent. Like I said for me where I live humidity is almost never a problem & I'm able to use a swamp cooler most of the time.My 2 refrigerated window units will do a pretty good job for the rare times humidity is high. justinlay ;Is the AC tech that the work assignment from affiliated with the home warranty some way.If so he may be giving you a "snow job" because the home contractor installed too small a unit. I would beleive what the metal plate on the unit says.Or get an independent evaluation if the AC tech you used is affiliated with the home warranty

tommie & justinlay;I think what the too large unit does is turn the evaporator into an icecube that doesn't let air flow through it.If the compressor could be set to cycle less regardless of the thermostat setting this would allow the evaporator to warm & let the air flow evaporate the moisture on the evaporator coil. Then when cold again the air would flow through it. I could be wrong on this my AC experience is mostly automotive. The only other thing I could suggest is to see if a AC tech (A good one) could install a smaller valve to the evaporator. Voltageman answered my question but I'm posting this anyway One more thing can or have you observed the evavprator coil when the AC is running. Is it an icecube that doesn't let air flow through?

Good looking graphics but test accuracy like dlewis23 said compares to speakeasy test . For me on dial-up that translates to DL tests too slow & upload too fast. I'm postig results of the test & testmy tests taken as close as possible to the same time. The DL speed on testmy is correct & unfortunatly fo me so is the UL test. I think if CA3LE could add the distance to server to the testmy results it would be a nice addition. Is there an outside setting on the unit that would cycle the compressor less.In effect turning the larger unit into a smaller one.

I like your logic but the truth is it's been a long time since I watched the movie. So I had no idea when the scene was in the movie.Call it plain coincidence then or just a lucky guess.

Here most houses have the wind powered turbines but in parts of the country without enough wind The make several types & sizes of powered thermostatically controled attic vents.Like tommie posted.I remember seeing a building show where the put a big one in the eve instead of the roof.Or was that the range hood on Home Improvement. Ryan314 ;even with incandesent bulbs I doubt if the lights are the heat problem with only 2.I though you might have 6 or 8. tommie I have some of the flourescent screw in ones in some places but to be fair they don't give off as much light as there rated. If you do get these get one with a good warranty.I have taken my 7 year warranty one back 4 times to Walmart. If you want the best light for efficency (the ballast does give off some heat ) A dual 40w flourscent is good.Use the more expensive Kitchen & bath or warm white type bulbs for a more natural light than the cool whites. The cool or warm refer to color not heat. Voltageman;Good post on the refrigerated AC.Here I use a swamp cooler most of the time. The honey comb paper pads work the best for cooling.& you need to open windows to allow it to flow. But for humid days I have 2 window unit refrigerated air. It's usually not hard to get the house down to 70 degrees even on a 100 plus day.

I would call that an unusual cosmic coincidence.tdawnaz asked me if I was psyhic because in the never ending story topic I made a post about New Orleans being hit by a tidal wave before the katrina.

Daiquirii ;I' ve seen all of Monty Python's movies I think.I like the seen where the knight gets his arms cut off & still wants to fight. It has been several years since I watched one though.I do like some Brit shows like "Keeping Up Appearrances" ,"Good Neighbors" Roco another member who is a Brit said in England it was called "The Good Life" & I've been a Dr.Who fan for a long time I think the best one was Tom Baker. I think all people have the potential of being of cosmic importence. So we differ in philosophy there. Not so much as the mortal beings we are now but as the spirit beings we can become.

Daiquirii ;I was writing this when you posted you had it working .I'm going to post it anyway in case it might help in the future. I have ME so I might be able to help.First you do need to find out if the modem is connected USB or ethernet. Try this first though. If ME has a driver it should detect the modem.Me is known for not having adequit drivers though. Control Panel/ add/Remove hardware/ let the wizard searc plug & play then let it search non plug & play if it still doesn't detect anything it will give you the option to do it manually.Ity will give you a list of devices like modem & network adapter select one of those then have disc if you have the disc.It will then let you browse to where the disc is located probably the CD drive. Find the driver & continue following the wizards directions. You can also look in System properties/device manager Highlight any device there you want to check.Select properties for it & see if it is working properly if there. If the device is there you can update it's driver from there if you have a dics with a newer or correct driver.

Ryan314 ;Thanks I hadn't heard the term for recessed lighting.I guess because I don't have any.It would seem these would vent all their heat up into the attic. So if the attic is properly vented this shouldn't be a problem. How many are in your room & what is the wattage per bulb As well as what type bulb do you use?Unless either is excessive I doubt the lights are the problem.Heat rises so what is directly below you computer room?Does it have the recessed lights that their heat could be coming up through your floor. So the problem might be heat generated in the room below.

I believe God has always existed & had no beginning. The exact method He used to create the physical universe is just theory on our part.

tommie; Thanks for the effort & this would be much easier to change.I would still favor 2 shorter chains myself .Dual gear on the crank & one chian to each OHC.The shorter chains having less potential for jumping a notch. If a 7' chain jumped a notch it might take a run on the dyno to tell considering the amount of HP this engine has.Same with the belt.& having driven a Ford OHC 4-cyl a lot of miles I like the gilmor belt for OHC.but even here I would opt for dual ones. IMO they really never thought many of them would be used on the street & pro racers would probably change the chain often just to prevent problems. Same reason the gilmor belts don't have dust covers like they would need for the street. I would still like to be behind the wheel of a car with one of these engines.

This comment above is why I thought I have a better outlook. If the above is true then how can life be meaningless? That must come from Catholic doctrine. As far as I know there is nothing in the Bible that says you can't prevent fertilization. & I may get a comment from the "Be fruitful & multiply " followers. But it doesn't say how fruitful or how much to mulitply. If an opinion would make you an outcast here then me & Shug would have never made it here. What would make you an outcast would be being a horses ass to people & so far you haven't done that. So welcome to the forum as far as I'm concerned. Here is one of my arguements on the child being a seperate being. If the child was just part of the womans body then it wouldn't need the umbilical cord to filter the blood especially if it's a different type.If it didn't do this then the mother would die from the childs different blood type entering her body.

Daiquirii;I don't want to adress all your rant.I'm glad I have a better outlook.I already posted my view on abortion. For the welfare & having more children to get more.Mandatory sterilization on the first birth the government has to pay for would cure this. That's for the father also btw. Now to the guns."The history of firearms is the history of freedom" For you end statement "our lives are meaningless' We are children of the universe no less the the stars & the trees .We have a right to be here. While in that mode I'm a Christian & happy to be one.God will take care of things in His time .This end is already written in the Bible. ShankeD; I answer with this quote"When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty, and property of the people ... and ... becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression ... it is a ... sacred obligation to their posterity to abolish such government and create another in its stead." -- Sam Houston Government is not reason; it is not eloquence; it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. -- George Washington

tommie do you know the total number of the 427 SOHC produced.I thought you might have it in your facts somewhere.I was wondering if there were enough to show how that 7' timing chain did as far as longjevity.I bet it was a bitch to replace.Kind of like open heart surgery on the engine. How about this conversation "Hello AutoZone do you have a timing chain for a 427 SOHC. Their reply "What model car is it in ?" your reply "It didn't come stock in any car.It was an over the counter engine." long silence Their reply"I'm sorry sir we don't have it." I wonder if the Ford dealer parts counter would be much better. From a mechanic stand point I would call the chain bad engineering. If they had made the motor longer I think they would have designed a twin chain system. I would love to run the motor though.

I'm not sure Sunliner is always the correct description for the car my uncle was working on adding to his collection. Some Sunliners are convertables .So I got some pics of the type he was looking for & found one he was negotiating for.He restores his to origonal as possible. A lot of them have the Ford 292 or 312 not Fords best engine IMO but the original for a lot of 50's Fords.
-
My uncle is a classic Ford collector Although that's not a pic of his .His is the same two tone colors as the one in the pic.He also has a 55 T-bird.,56 Crown Victoria,48 or 49 Mercury& a 34 or 38 Ford.Last time I talked to him he was working on getting a Ford Sunliner but I don't know if he got it or not.

amc11890;The mods will probably move this to off topic sooner or later. But I will let some other mod do it being a car guy myself. I have never owned a Japanese car & don't plan too.I hold their actions in WW2 against them & always will.Unfortunatly I'm forced to buy some electronics from them but I try to buy as little Japanese products as possible. My dad was in the Pacific on an oil tanker in WW2.As a matter of fact 3 different ones 2 were sank & he spent time in the ocean until rescued. So the Japanese might have caused me not to have been born.My dad also died fairly young at 54 some of this could have shortened his life. Then our own country in their stupidity let sailors from his ship walk around in Hiroshima 3 weeks after the bombing. So be American & buy American if you can.I have owned a couple of English sports cars. But they were & are our allies. To stay partly on topic heres a car pic .My uncle has one.1959 Ford Galaxy with retractable hard top. Very rare.

I'm not an Astros fan either.I like playing baseball but watching it is like watching paint dry. On the abortion subject.I consider it murder in all circumstances. This is because of my religion & I beleive life begins at fertilization. That being said it is much easier being a male & having this view.I'm glad I won't ever be the one who has to make the decision. Right now women have the right to make the choice by law so until that changes I will leave it between them & God.Even legally the unborn child should be considered half the males child & he should have to give his consent also for abortion.Because if she has the child he will be liable for child support even if he wanted the child aborted. With each having 50% say neither could force abortion or birth. I'm still waiting to see what happens to the first male that just drops a newborn off at the police station under the no questions asked law in some states. So far it was written for women to do this.Completly innoring fathers rights. It seems the only right men don't have a problem with the law enforcing is the right to support their children. I'm not going to get into the race issue but child support is enforced with a lot more gusto on white men.
