  1. amc11890 ;I would go with the manual sometimes an automatic is nice but why not learn to drive a manual.I started driving a manual when I was 10 years old.Not on the street. It was my grandads 1941 Cheverolet pickup. There was a large feild he let me drive it in. I've driven both Chevrolets & Fords & quite few other cars.I've never owned a Japanese car & don't plan to .Both have pros & cons. CA3LE I have had much better luck with valves on both kinds than you .My main wear problem has always been rings. For valves I usually get 100000 + .The fastest I ever drove was in a 1966 Ford Galaxy with a 390 about 160 mph.The fastest car I was ever in was a 1964 Chevelle Malibu 327 at the time but this changed from time to time. The freind that had it raced it & blew a lot of motors. It's 1/4 mile time was around 11 & 1/4 sec.It was supercharged with dual quads,12 to 1 pistons, headers with dual glasspacs,An H-pipe probably would have added some balance but he usually raced it with strait headers. You could still get leaded premium at the time.I think super Shell was 110 to 112 octane. Those were the days.
  2. tommie gorman ;The pic was a little small. I like something to the hood at least some better lines in the metal to me the 2006 is very plain as far as the hood goes. The one in the pic is a 2004 isn't it?
  3. Thanks EWO;I throughly enjoyed the video & song.My dad was aWW2 vet.He was in the Navy.He was on 3 different tanker ships .2 were sank & he spent time in the water in the Pacific. Then the US let him & other sailors from his ship walk around Hiroshima about 3 weeks after the A-bomb was dropped.I sure that was safe. He died in 1980 at 54 years old so he's been gone a long time.
  4. amc11890 ;The new Mustang 2006 has too plain a hood for me .Still being a Ford man I would see if I could get an after market hood or scoop to fix that.Unless Ford has a special order one for the Mustang. I'm going to address this because of your age.You better check the insurance cost.It can be a lot lower for a non GT model or any performance type.Get the regular model even with the same engine it is less. You can always add the decals & other parts these won't change the insurance.
  5. Here's my take on it :If AT&T & Comcast don't want to spend billions to build broadband networks then no one is forcing them with the law anyway. So they can let the companies that want to invest in this build them instead.I somehow think they don't want to not build them.So why if there losing money? My answer is they know these improvements will pay for themselves even with a neutral net so they will do them even if they aren't allowed to sell premium tiers .The premium tiers would just allow them to make more money.
  6. "In order to balance the safety of this American artifact with the peoples desire to view the flag, we are looking at displaying it at no more than a 30-degree angle," said Spencer R. Crew, director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. The iconic banner hung vertically in Flag Hall at the Museum of American History, on Washington D.C.'s National Mall, from 1964, when the museum opened, until December 1998 when it was taken down and moved to a specially constructed conservation lab in the museum. The flag was flown over Fort McHenry during the British bombardment on September 13 and 14, 1814. A British witness described it being hoisted on the morning of September 14 as the British ships retreated from Baltimore harbor. At about 7 a.m., Francis Scott Key, a Washington lawyer who had been detained on one of those ships, saw the flag flying over the fort and was inspired to write the patriotic and defiant words of the poem that became the U.S. national anthem. Planning for the current conservation project

  9. Altoidz ;The total space should remain constant it is the total size of the partition or HD if the HD is not partitioned. The free space is what it says the space free to put data on.If there is more free space then you have lost data. The used space is what would be smaller if you lost data.
  10. I like the way it looks now but the text size is small for some members.
  11. Altoidz; You might read this topic it goes into more detail on "show hidden files" .I agree with ROM-DOS & Dark06 if your HD is a lot smaller then the data is probably gone. But it might be professionally recoverable if it is important enough data. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=13502.0
  12. x_6985381 ;That's why I thought you might need some cooling.Since with the right cooling your motherboard won't run hot I would go for the new CPU unless you think the heat has already damaged the motherboard. If that is the situation the the heat has probably damaged the CPU too so replace both.
  13. I just went & did a couple .I know the first one is not correct.I don't cache tests & as far as I know it is not possible to cache a test with dial-up on the main server.I can cache them at some of the mirrors if I want to.My test time of day is a little off I guess I need to go into my profile & adjust the time. :::.. 15. x_6985381 ;F1 is the key for my BIOS on the manufacturer screen during boot.I can also get into BIOS by holding Ctrl key as it cold boots .This gives a "keyboard error"message & then it gives me the option of going to BIOS.The admistrator password for my motherboard not Windows gives full access or the user password gives limited access.
  16. coknuck : I googled it since I haven't seen it on my OS.It seems to be OK.It should be a RunOnce program that cleans up some leftovers from installations.I read more but this is some of what I found below . Alot of people are wondering what it is. It's always been a small invisible program belonging to Windows and is exactly what it says it is, a clean up program. You are only noticing it now because of the spyware scanning procedures, especially when using Webroot Spy Sweeper or other spyware software that does a deep clean search. Programs that require a reboot need access to files extracted from archives before Windows reloads. This command loads the routine to clean up what is left in the temporary system files. It's part of your operating system so when asked if you want to delete it or keep it, click on KEEP IT. Wextract Cleanup0 is valid and legal software included or sold to help clean up temporary or cab files created by the installer software for a wide variety of software. You get a message at the end of an install. Reboot, then it runs just for the purpose of cleaning up all the debris left over from an install session. It is designed to self destruct after this work is done. So when it is still around, something went rong... because it is supposed to be gone after you reboot. wextract.exe is a small program built into Windows which can extract those little .cab (zip-files Microsoft style) files. This is probably a left-over from an installation of an application, in which wextract tries to clean up any temp-files needed for the installation. This alert you are getting, can be ignored, there seem to be more spyware-removers that think wextract.exe is a spyware, probably because it has algorythms similar to a 'real' spyware.
  17. What ever happened to dwarf tossing & midget bowling?
  18. I only eat bananas during the no -mosquito season as I beleive it attracts them to you. I can now sleep in my tree again since Keith Richards fell out of it.
  19. Funny video. He would be worried about the up coming ROM-DOS & cholla ticket. On the serious side I don't think we would have went to war with Iraq.911 might not have happened.
  20. EWO ;The article in my post above is suppose to be a letter to the President from Cheif Seattle about the US government wanting to buy land from his tribe. There is some disagreement over if this is a fact. But it makes you think not just how the Indians were treated bit about how we treat the Earth. I have at least two kinds of Native American in my gene pool but like I told tommie gorman. If your ancestors have been in America several generations there were many more men settlers that women settlers. The men took Native American women as mates & sometimes wives. Then because of prejudice & because problems about Native Americans being able to own land. They hid the fact they were part Native American if they could. So most Americans have more Native American in their gene pool that they are aware of.
  21. I thought I would put in some Native Americam Patriotism: How can you buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them? Every part of this earth is sacred to my people. Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every clearing and humming insect is holy in the memory and experience of my people. The sap which courses through the trees carries the memories of the red man. The white man's dead forget the country of their birth when they go to walk among the stars. Our dead never forget this beautiful earth, for it is the mother of the red man. We are part of the earth and it is part of us. The perfumed flowers are our sisters; the deer, the horse, the great eagle, these are our brothers. The rocky crests, the juices in the meadows, the body heat of the pony, and man --- all belong to the same family. So, when the Great Chief in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land, he asks much of us. The Great Chief sends word he will reserve us a place so that we can live comfortably to ourselves. He will be our father and we will be his children. So, we will consider your offer to buy our land. But it will not be easy. For this land is sacred to us. This shining water that moves in the streams and rivers is not just water but the blood of our ancestors. If we sell you the land, you must remember that it is sacred, and you must teach your children that it is sacred and that each ghostly reflection in the clear water of the lakes tells of events and memories in the life of my people. The water's murmur is the voice of my father's father. The rivers are our brothers, they quench our thirst. The rivers carry our canoes, and feed our children. If we sell you our land, you must remember, and teach your children, that the rivers are our brothers and yours, and you must henceforth give the rivers the kindness you would give any brother. We know that the white man does not understand our ways. One portion of land is the same to him as the next, for he is a stranger who comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The earth is not his brother, but his enemy, and when he has conquered it, he moves on. He leaves his father's grave behind, and he does not care. He kidnaps the earth from his children, and he does not care. His father's grave, and his children's birthright are forgotten. He treats his mother, the earth, and his brother, the sky, as things to be bought, plundered, sold like sheep or bright beads. His appetite will devour the earth and leave behind only a desert. I do not know. Our ways are different than your ways. The sight of your cities pains the eyes of the red man. There is no quiet place in the white man's cities. No place to hear the unfurling of leaves in spring or the rustle of the insect's wings. The clatter only seems to insult the ears. And what is there to life if a man cannot hear the lonely cry of the whippoorwill or the arguments of the frogs around the pond at night? I am a red man and do not understand. The Indian prefers the soft sound of the wind darting over the face of a pond and the smell of the wind itself, cleaned by a midday rain, or scented with pinon pine. The air is precious to the red man for all things share the same breath, the beast, the tree, the man, they all share the same breath. The white man does not seem to notice the air he breathes. Like a man dying for many days he is numb to the stench. But if we sell you our land, you must remember that the air is precious to us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports. The wind that gave our grandfather his first breath also receives his last sigh. And if we sell you our land, you must keep it apart and sacred as a place where even the white man can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow's flowers. So we will consider your offer to buy our land. If we decide to accept, I will make one condition - the white man must treat the beasts of this land as his brothers. I am a savage and do not understand any other way. I have seen a thousand rotting buffaloes on the prairie, left by the white man who shot them from a passing train. I am a savage and do not understand how the smoking iron horse can be made more important than the buffalo that we kill only to stay alive. What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of the spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected. You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children that we have taught our children that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves. This we know; the earth does not belong to man; man belongs to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected. Even the white man, whose God walks and talks with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We shall see. One thing we know which the white man may one day discover; our God is the same God. You may think now that you own Him as you wish to own our land; but you cannot. He is the God of man, and His compassion is equal for the red man and the white. The earth is precious to Him, and to harm the earth is to heap contempt on its creator. The whites too shall pass; perhaps sooner than all other tribes. Contaminate your bed and you will one night suffocate in your own waste. But in your perishing you will shine brightly fired by the strength of the God who brought you to this land and for some special purpose gave you dominion over this land and over the red man. That destiny is a mystery to us, for we do not understand when the buffalo are all slaughtered, the wild horses are tamed, the secret corners of the forest heavy with the scent of many men and the view of the ripe hills blotted by talking wires. Where is the thicket? Gone. Where is the eagle? Gone. The end of living and the beginning of survival.
  22. How about adding this to it. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/1998/05/980504130018.htm NEW ELECTROLYTE Another key part of the battery work is the development of a new electrolyte. A fourth faculty member on the MIT team recently succeeded in doing just that (the work was not reported in the Nature article). Introducing Anne M. Mayes, Class of '48 Associate Professor of Polymer Physics in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Professor Mayes's new electrolyte, a polymer, has a variety of novel properties. For one, it's a solid. Conventional electrolytes are liquid, which limits the shape of the battery (you need some kind of vessel to hold the liquid). But the new electrolyte conceived by Professor Mayes is flexible. A battery made of it "would be something with the consistency of a potato-chip bag," Professor Sadoway said. "You could fold it up to make any number of different configurations." Imagine a car powered by a battery that's incorporated into the body panels.
  23. I watched a race with one of these on TV.I would like to see one for regular street use made for max efficiency not power & speed. So the range would be much futher.
  24. Although I'm for a total stop of future immigration to the USA.I think were full now.& have plenty of diversity for the American gene pool. If we are going to continue to allow new immigratns then :Us Americans need to turn the heat back up on the MELTING POT & melt the immigrants & pour them into AMERICAN molds. It's time to return to Americans being Americans period & nothing else.If your loyalty is to another country or culture then thats where you should be.So you can be happy & imerse yoursely in that wonderful culture that is so good you left the USA. So any takers ready to leave the USA for the country & culture you love? If the answer is yes the don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. If the answer is no.Then become an American & love this country & its culture. Not the one that was so bad you left or in a lot of case your ancestors left & had no intention of returning. So if you were born in America it's time to accept that you are American not anything else. Not Mexican,Chinese,Japanese ,Viet Namese,Irish,German,English & so on. BTW good articles tommie gorman .
  25. That remind me of something funny I heard on TV. That's analgesic. Your supposed to take it orally.
