Nos7667;I don't use DRTCP but I doubt that's the problem. Can you ping from MS-DOS Prompt. If you have it type: ping testmy.net & see if it will ping testmy.net.If it doesn't either your ISP blocks ping or It may be blocked in your router or firewall.

.s1 ;The site tomwalker posted is $4.94 a month for dial-up.Mine in $9.95 a month. His is limited to 400 hours a month & mine is unlimited. I am too far out for DSL.
-
FGOKURULES;I use dial-up but if you have something against dial-up what are you doing posting in the dial-up section?I think if you check a lot of people still use dial-up.That's why the majority of ISP's still sell it.
-
tomwalker;Welcome to the forum always happy to see another dial-up user here. Don't worry about the link but the reference for you getting credits is generally frowned upon here. I did check the site & the TOS which says if you go over 400 hours the service will most likley be disconnected till the next month. But for the price it is a good deal. amc11890;A mod will have to remove the link or spam if it's been 20 minutes.I don't think CA3LE will mind but if he does then my bad on this one.

.s1 ;Yeah your missing the fact that tommie's 21 again for the 26th time.

skeptikal; You might try this:Go to control panel;Add/Remove programs.Highlight your IE & select remove .It should give you the option to repair IE select to repair it.DON'T Remove it. If it doesn't give you the repair option just cancel the remove. You might also try turning on Auto update if it is off. Shug;I don't use auto update so I guess it doesn't show up on my OS.

FaT_PHiL ;Try this it might replace oleaut32.dll into your system files with the original. First you need to go to windowsoptionsInstall thats in windows me it may be a little different in 98.like Install or Cabs but it will have your original setup in it.There will be several cab files. In windows ME oleaut32.dll is located in win_14.cab.You need to locate the .cab file it is in. Then use your startup disk to go to dos.At the A:> type C: then enter then at the C:> type cdwindowsoption|install then enter that would be in windows me but use the location of the cab files in 98 the same way .My prompt now looks like thisC: windowsoption|install> there type Extract win_14.cab oleaut32.dll enter copy oleaut32.dll C:windowssystem enter This is the example with windows me you just need to put in the location in 98.This will give you the same oleaut32.dll you would have if you reformatted.

Hey resopalrabotnick I got a German airforce joke for you. Sven, a Norwegian pilot during World War II, was being interviewed on TV. He had been asked about the day he shot down 7 German airplanes. 'Well, Oi was jus flyin' aloong when suddenly Oi see this fokker flyin' oop at me,' explained Sven in his native accent. 'Oi looked aroun' and saw there woos another fokker off me right wing and then two fokkers off me left wing. There was a fokker behin' me, and two fokkers comin' doon at me.' At this point the interviewer interjected, 'Perhaps I should explain to our viewing audience that a Fokker is a kind of German aircraft.' 'Ja,' said Sven. 'That, too. But these fokkers were flying Messerschmidts.'

waterRTBH;You don't have to believe in Christmas to use the word. It's a way of respecting the beliefs of us that are Christian. We Christians celebrate it on a date that's inaccurate for the actual birthday of Christ anyway. As far as I know there is not an exact date for his birth in the Bible. So if greeted with Merry Christmas just return it the same way. tommie gorman ;Good find on the song site.& you included Yellow Rose of Texas.I loked at the site & it has a lot of old songs. I had a friend that was a Nam vet that was in a moto cycle gang but he was before he went to Nam.He lost one leg to a mine in Nam & the other one in A motorcycle accident after he came home.I have lost track of him but the last time I saw him he was still riding a chopped Harley. I also knew a tunnel rat Nam vet who commited suicide a few years after he came home.He was a little guy he could have gotten out of even going. They had to fill him up before they weighed him for his entrance physical. I have respectually disposed of a couple of old flags by burning them. But this is different than doing it as a protest & better I think than throwing them away. They were at a place I worked that at one time flew them but these had been put on a shelf & allowed to become very dirty & the cloth was pretty rotted. So I disposed of them by burning. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode04/usc_sec_04_00000008----000-.html US Flag Code. TITLE 4 > CHAPTER 1 > Sec. 8(k) (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

I ditto Shug.I think" Off Topic" can handle any thing that can be posted in "Members Only" now. coknuck :I see waterRTBH Second Shifters banner. waterRTBH;I see ROM-DOS's google banner too. tommie gorman ;I thought I would just add to this post.Yes Off Topic is regulated under the rules of cleanliness.I split a topic & created the carbs V. fuel injection topic in off topic I think if I would look I would fins another one or two I moved.Van Buren is always moving topics to off topic.

Hi all; Here's where I'm at on this.My vote no was partly based on underage members viewing.I would like to see some stats before we have another vote if we do. 1.How many members qualify for the Members Only Lounge total ? 2.How many of those are under 18 ? 3.How many under 18 are about to qualify? I know there are members who have children under 18 that at least veiw & maybe use their parents account.I guess those parents would have to take this under their control if the vote is done again & changed to allow nudity in Members Only Lounge. I'm for a new vote on this because only 45 cared enough to vote & I bet a lot of the "Nos" were like me boderline. tdawnaz ;I added this for you & other female members.Yes I treat you different here just like I would in the real world.I try to make that equal treatment but different. For instance I would not expect to go to the same restroom with you & take a piss together where if you were male I would not think anything about it.

I agree with resopalrabotnick & would try his solution.Below is a pic of what an ISP blocked ping looks like.

I thought I would add some more on The Pledge of Allegiance. This covers the addition of "under God".Although Red Skeltons' observation about "under God" & the Supreme court rulings of today seem very relavant. The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise or oath of allegiance to the United States, and to its national flag. It commonly recited in unison at public events, and especially in public school classrooms, where the Pledge is often a morning ritual. In its present form, the words of the Pledge are: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to The Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. According to current U.S. custom, as codified by the United States Congress, persons are expected (but not legally required) to recite the Pledge as follows: by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute. The Pledge of Allegiance was written for the popular children's magazine Youth's Companion by socialist author and Baptist minister Francis Bellamy on September 7, 1892. The owners of Youth's Companion were selling flags to schools, and approached Bellamy to write the Pledge for their advertising campaign. It was marketed as a way to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus arriving in the Americas and was first published on the following day. Bellamy's original Pledge read as follows: I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. It was seen by some Brightonians as a call for national unity and wholeness after the divisive Civil War. Bellamy had initially also considered using the words equality and fraternity but decided they were too controversial since many people still opposed equal rights for women and African Americans. After a proclamation by President Benjamin Harrison, the Pledge was first used in public schools on October 12, 1892 during Columbus Day observances. The form adopted inserted the word "to" before "the Republic", a minor matter of grammar. The Knights of Columbus in New York City felt that the pledge was incomplete without any reference to a deity. Appealing to the authority of Abraham Lincoln, the Knights felt that the words "under God" from Lincoln

EWO:I just put in the exact song lyrics. The song is really about how crappy the USA treated a hero like Ira after he came home. tdawnaz; Here's some more info on the song & Ira. The tragic story of his life was immortalized in a song, "The Ballad of Ira Hayes," by Peter LaFarge and performed by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Ira Hamilton Hayes (January 12, 1923

Artist/Band: Cash Johnny Lyrics for Song: Ballad of Ira Hayes Ira Hayes CHORUS: Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian Nor the Marine that went to war Gather round me people there's a story I would tell About a brave young Indian you should remember well From the land of the Pima Indian A proud and noble band Who farmed the Phoenix valley in Arizona land Down the ditches for a thousand years The water grew Ira's peoples' crops 'Till the white man stole the water rights And the sparklin' water stopped Now Ira's folks were hungry And their land grew crops of weeds When war came, Ira volunteered And forgot the white man's greed CHORUS: Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian Nor the Marine that went to war There they battled up Iwo Jima's hill, Two hundred and fifty men But only twenty-seven lived to walk back down again And when the fight was over And when Old Glory raised Among the men who held it high Was the Indian, Ira Hayes CHORUS: Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian Nor the Marine that went to war Ira returned a hero Celebrated through the land He was wined and speeched and honored; Everybody shook his hand But he was just a Pima Indian No water, no crops, no chance At home nobody cared what Ira'd done And when did the Indians dance CHORUS: Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian Nor the Marine that went to war Then Ira started drinkin' hard; Jail was often his home They'd let him raise the flag and lower it like you'd throw a dog a bone! He died drunk one mornin' Alone in the land he fought to save Two inches of water in a lonely ditch Was a grave for Ira Hayes CHORUS: Call him drunken Ira Hayes He won't answer anymore Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian Nor the Marine that went to war Yeah, call him drunken Ira Hayes But his land is just as dry And his ghost is lyin' thirsty In the ditch where Ira died

It's a hard yes or no vote but I had to go no.I think adult jokes would be OK.Some adult photos but not full frontal or a butt shot that shows too much frontal. For breasts mothers even let babies see them.& they can nurse a baby in public so I would say there OK. I think resopalrabotnicksums it up pretty well here:

tommie gorman ;I did some looking for this information on some Camaro sites. As far as I found only the RS had the headlight covers.I'm sure a lot of SS owners managed to get the RS grill & lights for their cars.Another interesting fact I found was although there were 1967 Z28s if one has the chrome emblems for Z28 they are from a newer model.1968 was the first year with them. Heres the rest of what I copied at the Camaro sites: The 1967 model Camaro was the only year were the headlight door covers were electronically operated. Later years they were operated by vacuum. Headlight covers on 1968 RS models were now vacuum operated rather than electronically as in the 1967 model year 1969 Camaro RS models Up front, partially see-through headlight covers were used with the Rally Sport grille package (previous RS headlight covers were solid panels). Optional Rally Sport models had vacuum-operated headlight covers with three see-through slots which permitted limited lighting even with headlight doors closed and lights on 1970 Camaro The Rally Sport hideaway headlights were no longer available. 1969 was the last Camaro model year to have hide-away headlights.

resopalrabotnick;I guess I prefer a stick.I've driven both ..I guess when you've shifted a stick long enough it feels automatic.I would like it if they put a factory roll control on the stick.Stopped uphill & taking off is one of the few times I would like an automatic but a roll control will take care of that. I have had some cars with automatics. My 1957 Chevrolet Wagon had a 283 engine & cast iron powerglide.I also had a 1963 Plymouth Fury with a push button automatic. The first automatic I drove was a 1954 Buick with a Dynaflow automatic & enclosed driveline really quite.I could list more but those are the more unusual automatics I've owned or driven. The rest were Ford c4 or c6 & GM Turbohydramatics. The crazy one to drive is a manual 3 speed column shifter. An old worn one can put the transmission in 2 gears at the same time & kill the transmission. tommie gorman ;Wasn't it the 1968 & 69 RS that had the covered head lights that the SS didn't?
