  1. coknuck;I thinh the regular Pacer was uglier so I'm putting in a pic of it & a few others Buick Invicta,Corvair van & pickup.
  2. My bedside gun is a Ruger22 automatic pistol.I consider the 22 one of the deadliest as well as safest house guns.It doesn't usually go thriugh walls like a larger caliber will .Yet when a body shot is what it is used for the bullet goes in & bounces around tearing everything up.It's not the best head shot gun but most crimonals that might be inside your house without permission aren't wearing body armor. So do the body shot.btw I keep 2 clips handy only 9 shots per clip but if I can't do the job with 18 shots I have no business shoting a gun. resopalrabotnick;their personality makes up for what seems a lack of intellegence. They love people & will do anything to please .I had one for 11 years. She could stand on her hind legs longer that any dog I was ever around.I think she would have stood for half an hour for a treat.she could also walk this way & turn a circle. Tommie ;A friend of mine had a full blood German Shepard with AKC papers this dog weighed 140 lbs & was not fat.I know because my friend could not lift him to weigh him so I did & stepped on the scale while he read the amount. This one was a family pet not a gaurd trained shepard so he was friendly. The only person I saw this dog attack was a mailman who came in the yard when my friends young son was in the yard.Fortunatly this was an old experienced mailman that carried the leather mail bag .The stuck his arm inside it & used it for defense.he did not even get bit.
  3. tommie ; the only labs I've been around much were only part lab. Both looked mostly lab though. One was my mothers dog Tobe I guess he was pretty smart because until his partner dog (an English Setter )died we didn't realize he was deaf.He had used her for his ears for who knows how longThe other was a friends dog he was a pretty feirce dog that liked to fight other dogs & wasn't to safe around people he didn't know.I remember one funny thing about him he cleared a room of 30 people that wher partying at my friens .When he let go a silent but deadly fart.
  4. When I saw you had this gun I had to make a comment.I didn't own the ted williams 20 ga. it belonged to a friend. He would use his "better"12 ga. & I would use his old 20ga.This was probably 35 years ago maybe 30.We would hunt rabbits.btw I don't eat wild rabbit to much chance of disease but I didn't know better then. Anyway this gun had a 3 position choke & I used the full choke setting .I could usually hit the rabbits head & not get shot in the shoulders. My freinds 12 ga. got a lot of shot in the rest of the rabbit. So give me the Ted Williams 20 ga. any day. Right now the only shotgun I have is a fairly short 12 ga. double barrel. The most unusual calibur I have ever fired was a Winchester 25/35..The bullets reallt whistle out of one of those. It was a antique one with the hex barrel. I thought I would add this about dogs.I had a full Irish Setter several years ago.Full of energy & the friendliest dog you could want always seemed happy. The only drawback is she was not always the most intellegent dog a little scatterbrained.
  5. Nos7667 ;I'm not sure how to fix the command prompt but if you want to ping from your OS it's the easiest way. There may be some other software that would let you ping I haven't looked for any since my ISP blocks ping. I'm guessing you have XP & it's kind of anti dos.I have ME & all the 9x OS's use dos pretty well.Maybe some member with XP can help with this better than I can.
  6. Nos7667;I don't use DRTCP but I doubt that's the problem. Can you ping from MS-DOS Prompt. If you have it type: ping testmy.net & see if it will ping testmy.net.If it doesn't either your ISP blocks ping or It may be blocked in your router or firewall.
  7. .s1 ;The site tomwalker posted is $4.94 a month for dial-up.Mine in $9.95 a month. His is limited to 400 hours a month & mine is unlimited. I am too far out for DSL.
  8. FGOKURULES;I use dial-up but if you have something against dial-up what are you doing posting in the dial-up section?I think if you check a lot of people still use dial-up.That's why the majority of ISP's still sell it.
  9. tomwalker;Welcome to the forum always happy to see another dial-up user here. Don't worry about the link but the reference for you getting credits is generally frowned upon here. I did check the site & the TOS which says if you go over 400 hours the service will most likley be disconnected till the next month. But for the price it is a good deal. amc11890;A mod will have to remove the link or spam if it's been 20 minutes.I don't think CA3LE will mind but if he does then my bad on this one.
  10. .s1 ;Yeah your missing the fact that tommie's 21 again for the 26th time.

  15. skeptikal; You might try this:Go to control panel;Add/Remove programs.Highlight your IE & select remove .It should give you the option to repair IE select to repair it.DON'T Remove it. If it doesn't give you the repair option just cancel the remove. You might also try turning on Auto update if it is off. Shug;I don't use auto update so I guess it doesn't show up on my OS.
  16. Which bar is the information bar?
  17. FaT_PHiL ;Try this it might replace oleaut32.dll into your system files with the original. First you need to go to windowsoptionsInstall thats in windows me it may be a little different in 98.like Install or Cabs but it will have your original setup in it.There will be several cab files. In windows ME oleaut32.dll is located in win_14.cab.You need to locate the .cab file it is in. Then use your startup disk to go to dos.At the A:> type C: then enter then at the C:> type cdwindowsoption|install then enter that would be in windows me but use the location of the cab files in 98 the same way .My prompt now looks like thisC: windowsoption|install> there type Extract win_14.cab oleaut32.dll enter copy oleaut32.dll C:windowssystem enter This is the example with windows me you just need to put in the location in 98.This will give you the same oleaut32.dll you would have if you reformatted.
  18. Hey resopalrabotnick I got a German airforce joke for you. Sven, a Norwegian pilot during World War II, was being interviewed on TV. He had been asked about the day he shot down 7 German airplanes. 'Well, Oi was jus flyin' aloong when suddenly Oi see this fokker flyin' oop at me,' explained Sven in his native accent. 'Oi looked aroun' and saw there woos another fokker off me right wing and then two fokkers off me left wing. There was a fokker behin' me, and two fokkers comin' doon at me.' At this point the interviewer interjected, 'Perhaps I should explain to our viewing audience that a Fokker is a kind of German aircraft.' 'Ja,' said Sven. 'That, too. But these fokkers were flying Messerschmidts.'
  19. waterRTBH;You don't have to believe in Christmas to use the word. It's a way of respecting the beliefs of us that are Christian. We Christians celebrate it on a date that's inaccurate for the actual birthday of Christ anyway. As far as I know there is not an exact date for his birth in the Bible. So if greeted with Merry Christmas just return it the same way. tommie gorman ;Good find on the song site.& you included Yellow Rose of Texas.I loked at the site & it has a lot of old songs. I had a friend that was a Nam vet that was in a moto cycle gang but he was before he went to Nam.He lost one leg to a mine in Nam & the other one in A motorcycle accident after he came home.I have lost track of him but the last time I saw him he was still riding a chopped Harley. I also knew a tunnel rat Nam vet who commited suicide a few years after he came home.He was a little guy he could have gotten out of even going. They had to fill him up before they weighed him for his entrance physical. I have respectually disposed of a couple of old flags by burning them. But this is different than doing it as a protest & better I think than throwing them away. They were at a place I worked that at one time flew them but these had been put on a shelf & allowed to become very dirty & the cloth was pretty rotted. So I disposed of them by burning. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode04/usc_sec_04_00000008----000-.html US Flag Code. TITLE 4 > CHAPTER 1 > Sec. 8(k) (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.
  20. I ditto Shug.I think" Off Topic" can handle any thing that can be posted in "Members Only" now. coknuck :I see waterRTBH Second Shifters banner. waterRTBH;I see ROM-DOS's google banner too. tommie gorman ;I thought I would just add to this post.Yes Off Topic is regulated under the rules of cleanliness.I split a topic & created the carbs V. fuel injection topic in off topic I think if I would look I would fins another one or two I moved.Van Buren is always moving topics to off topic.

    Please Vote!

Hi all; Here's where I'm at on this.My vote no was partly based on underage members viewing.I would like to see some stats before we have another vote if we do. 1.How many members qualify for the Members Only Lounge total ? 2.How many of those are under 18 ? 3.How many under 18 are about to qualify? I know there are members who have children under 18 that at least veiw & maybe use their parents account.I guess those parents would have to take this under their control if the vote is done again & changed to allow nudity in Members Only Lounge. I'm for a new vote on this because only 45 cared enough to vote & I bet a lot of the "Nos" were like me boderline. tdawnaz ;I added this for you & other female members.Yes I treat you different here just like I would in the real world.I try to make that equal treatment but different. For instance I would not expect to go to the same restroom with you & take a piss together where if you were male I would not think anything about it.
  22. I agree with resopalrabotnick & would try his solution.Below is a pic of what an ISP blocked ping looks like.
  23. tommie gorman posted a lot of wonderful patriotic articles but for those interested I posted a long post on Ira Hayes on page 6.The photos below show him & the other heros listed raising the flag at Iwo Jima. A photo colorized to show all six men - Ira Hayes (red), Franklin Sousley (violet), John Bradley (green), Harlon Block (yellow), Michael Strank (brown), Rene Gagnon (teal)
  24. I thought I would add some more on The Pledge of Allegiance. This covers the addition of "under God".Although Red Skeltons' observation about "under God" & the Supreme court rulings of today seem very relavant. The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise or oath of allegiance to the United States, and to its national flag. It commonly recited in unison at public events, and especially in public school classrooms, where the Pledge is often a morning ritual. In its present form, the words of the Pledge are: I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to The Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. According to current U.S. custom, as codified by the United States Congress, persons are expected (but not legally required) to recite the Pledge as follows: by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. When not in uniform men should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute. The Pledge of Allegiance was written for the popular children's magazine Youth's Companion by socialist author and Baptist minister Francis Bellamy on September 7, 1892. The owners of Youth's Companion were selling flags to schools, and approached Bellamy to write the Pledge for their advertising campaign. It was marketed as a way to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus arriving in the Americas and was first published on the following day. Bellamy's original Pledge read as follows: I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. It was seen by some Brightonians as a call for national unity and wholeness after the divisive Civil War. Bellamy had initially also considered using the words equality and fraternity but decided they were too controversial since many people still opposed equal rights for women and African Americans. After a proclamation by President Benjamin Harrison, the Pledge was first used in public schools on October 12, 1892 during Columbus Day observances. The form adopted inserted the word "to" before "the Republic", a minor matter of grammar. The Knights of Columbus in New York City felt that the pledge was incomplete without any reference to a deity. Appealing to the authority of Abraham Lincoln, the Knights felt that the words "under God" from Lincoln
  25. EWO:I just put in the exact song lyrics. The song is really about how crappy the USA treated a hero like Ira after he came home. tdawnaz; Here's some more info on the song & Ira. The tragic story of his life was immortalized in a song, "The Ballad of Ira Hayes," by Peter LaFarge and performed by Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. Ira Hamilton Hayes (January 12, 1923
