Have you read this sticky yet?: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097.0 That is a good place to start.

dlewis23, is this 64bit or something? Either way, it kills my PC when trying to play it. Maybe a codec or driver problem on my end? BTW, netmasta, I downloaded it in just a couple of minutes at around 500KBytes/sec.
-
OK! I believe you, you did not have to kill my PC with that supposed video....... :haha: But seriously, the instant the download completed and tried to open-> BAM, the PC restarted. I will try again.
-
There it is! What is your advertised speed?
-
did you look at my screenshots above? Do it like it shows in those 2 pictures.......... Highlight the text- Right click then select 'copy'- Then open a post reply, right click then select 'paste'-
-
Try doing the text copy and paste like below...or if pasting a picture, then follow netmasta's advice.

Welcome to the forum, LadyLonnie Are you just copying the text and pasting like mine below? :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4345 Kbps about 4.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 530 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Sat Oct 01 2005 20:05:13 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 78X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.93 sec Diagnosis: Looks Great : 18.33 % faster than the average for host (cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-YLWAJQFRC

Mine freezes at 94-95% allot, but I know it is Avast AV causing it. I disable it, and problem gone.... DilatedPeoples, did you try disabling AV and Firewalls during testing?

Absolutey, I would be working from home hosting sites, etc, if I had that much BW available for next to nothing.
-
Thanks, CA3LE- Thats almost 5 THOUSAND Mbps allotted to ONE machine just for playing a few games and a little file storage/sharing? That bandwidth can't be free for your friend to just give away. We love ya dlewis23, but give us a little credit and a little proof.

Los Angeles Upgraded!!!!
dn0 replied to Tristan9669's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Nice; I like how most are getting speeds beyond there new cap. -
Speeds are looking much better now. Good find on the Win98 Packet redirection bug. I will have to remember that for future members with problems.
-
Not a problem at all. I am here on and off, and there is always someone else around to help. I think we need to know where your connection stands straight from the cable modem before you can work on improvements through the router.
-
Welcome to the forum, Guh-reg. I would personally like to see a speed test on your wired connection straight to the modem (NOT wireless, and NOT through the router). This will tell us if it is good or bad there, then we'll know where to start.

Any Info. Would be Helpfull on Network Bridging
dn0 replied to SummerEagle's topic in Make it Faster...
It definitely appears that you would need some third party software in order to combine two separate connections and say double your speed. The Windows Network Bridge I believe will just act similar to a router. I tested the theory also, and it would only connect to the net on one NIC at a time. -
I see. It only shows the stop button when a page is in the process of loading. I learned something new, thanks.

First, GodSpeed and my sympathies to all the family and friends of the lost Astronauts. Second, :haha: That is so damn true......

Welcome to the forum, Ninster First, start by reading and following this sticky: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097.0 Then get back to us.

Is there no refresh or stop button in IE7 beta? Or am I just completely missing the location. And I do understand that it is in "beta" testing. So far, not a bad browser, but hopefully will become a little more friendly.

:::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4600 Kbps about 4.6 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 562 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Thu Sep 29 2005 08:28:28 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 82X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.82 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 25.17 % faster than the average for host (cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-1R4YAU2Z6 :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 518 Kbps about 0.5 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB) Upload Speed is:: 63 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Thu Sep 29 2005 08:31:39 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 9X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 16.25 sec Diagnosis: 90% + Okay : running at 99.23 % of your hosts average (cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-L4MWJPXB3 99.23 % of Cox's upstream average? That average has gone up considerably in the last couple months. Must be more and more 9/1, 5/2, 15/2 users testing here, but we never hear from them. Thinking it's about time to upgrade to the 9000/1000 service. Seems allot of other users are passing me up.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have probably already checked out this thread: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097.0. If not, then check it out. Also, I have one PC that seriously acts up unless I set the NIC to 100 Half Duplex. You may want to try adjusting those settings under your NIC's properties.

Neither am I. Care to elaborate? What issues are you having. (I still get activex errors, but I had that before 1.0.7)

I haven't looked up the history, but Micheal Dell was one of the youngest self made millionares (now Billionare). He dropped out of college to start his business if I recall correctly. So, the lesson learned is: Stay in school!!! Wait..., drop out of school! How about this: Only drop out of school if you have a great business idea. Lucky bastard

The modem has to transmit everything back upstream to your isp. It can only transmit with so much power (around +58dBmV, depending upon modulation). Think of it as a person yelling back to your isp. The more attenuation, or obstacles, in the way, the louder the modem yells. If there is too much attenuation, then the modem may be screaming at the top of its lungs, but the CMTS (device at your isp that talks to your modem) can barely hear it. This is one possible cause of slow upload and packet loss. Noticed you dropped a packet, and the latency rose to 309ms at one point......
