What I was thinking, was maybe CA3LE could add a donate option which would give you access to testmy.net with no adds, or some other kind of benefits. Regardless it would be nice to donate once in awhile to testmy.net to help with any server costs because it's such a great site .

Most modern laptops have a shutoff feature to prevent over charging so it shouldnt be a problem, but if you want a computer that will just be plugged in all the time then why not get a desktop?

I can deal with a slower start up time because my system is fast and running most the time anyway with few restarts.

Are your pings this bad on everything or just games? It could either be a problem with your isp or the actual servers if you are sure that your computer is clean of everything.

If its just for browsing and other light cpu activities then that dell is probably more power than you need.

Does the computer slow down to the point where it feels like it really is running at 263 mhz because if not maybe its just reading it wrong somehow. On a sidenote I would recommened you get something instead of mcafee, like kaspersky or panda.

It is possible that your fsb is set very low, check in your bios to see what it's set at, default is 200.

Well panda platinum 2006 arrived today, can't wait to install it on my computers, best part is it got here in one day and was only 10 bucks.

An optical mouse is the kind with those red lights on the bottom instead of the ball. As far as word you might be able to get it through your job if you work, or maybe at a discount from your school. There are lots of free virus protectors so you can get one of those, or find a good deal on ebay.

You should just buy a nice barebones kit and then you can configure it to your liking instead of going with a dell, then you can overclock and stuff.

I think your upload will be sufficient for online gaming since you won't be hosting. You should try playing some games online now with 384 upload and see if it works the way you want it to.
