  2. if you have an ADSL 1 modem, i don't think its built to handle the speeds of ADSL 2+ hence the numbers 1 and 2. Try upgrading the modem and if you only pull 600kb/s on a server close to you, i highly doubt you have 24,000 download throughput.
  3. just noticed... way too small for office
  4. Westell Speedstream 2200 or a Verslalink 327W are my recomendations.
  5. it could be possible to charge 5.99/month. Say if you live off-campus and need internet access, maybe the university will provide you with it for a small charge, but same speeds and restrictions.
  6. Kinda of an old topic.... but yea did they fix it?
  7. oh alright and i just noticed something... I CANT EVEN GET A CACHED TEST THAT FAST! :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 13536 Kbps about 13.5 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1652 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Tue Jul 19 15:55:05 EDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 242X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.62 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 319.59 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net)
  8. Your right, the 30/5 package isnt cheap. But since the first month is free im guessing you'll downgrade to the 15/2 package then?
  9. See, you people look at those OC192-OC256 and all of the others and start drooling. I did too, until I realized no residential computer in the world can write data to a hard drive at speeds of however many Gbps it is.
  10. Ummm.... This guy doesn't seem too smart. Or whoever Published this is an idiot.
  11. so basically what your saying is that the federal authorities will soon be knocking at your door? Just playin with ya, but damn, that is a lot of stuff downloaded. If I May ask, what are you downloading?
  12. cable should have at least 15/2 by 07. in 08 DOCSIS 3.0 will become available, or at leeast start being deployed. Those are speeds like 200Mbps+.
  13. what are the actuall caps for the gold tier?
  14. I doubt 1-2 years in all of pittsburgh.... its not that big but, how hard would it be to wire an apartment building for fios, there would be like hundreds of ONT's.
  15. Do you bash an ISP in everyone of your posts.... sheesh.... Anyway Latency is very bad with DWay, due to the proxy and the fact it has to travel a few miles round trip...

    .

I believe its a possibility, but the best bet would be to replace the wiring inside that goes to your dsl jack. But never know, it could help, hopefully it does
  17. It should be fine for you. I think the upload test has a problem with anything over 2 megs, I think.

  19. I like, but it would have to be for the standard prices, no promotions.... it would be hard to keep track of all the promotions varios ISP's have going around.
  20. I don't think this would be easy to do but.... CA3LE is there a way you can change the download script so if a test from a verizon.net is run, it checks to see if its above. say 4mbps(dsl highest throughput is 3Mbps and FiOS lowest is 5Mbps) and put it in different categories? So the people with DSL don't look at there 2.9mbps score and say only 83% of average? Something is wrong here. Just an idea
  21. The reason your cap is at that is to acocunt for the overhead. PPPoE and just the general TCP/IP Overhead. And your fine even though your only running at 83% of your hosts average....
  22. at least you have fiber obtics in your town....
