  1. Checksum offloading has afaik never really worked that great, only on some cards in some instances or certain networks. Let the operating system do the math is much more efficient. Can't wait to hear your results.
  2. We have a 'long lost tech' section -- but it's evading me somehow, and I came across something I should add an image of too -- so when you ( you as in whoever find the flippin' thing)-- post up yes ?
  3. Now I did not care to take the time to find out what was the 'core' issue , but I did find by using GDB that this had something to do with domain authentication between postfix and nginx - since I had not yet gotten terrible deep into using nginx as a reverse proxy, it was eliminated, and the problem for now, at least has been solved. Maybe once nginx allows for .htaccess files I'll dive into that, having so many throughout an older site, even anything latest can cause hours of extra work.
  4. Quick search tells me the word 'random' is just that , random lol -- added
  5. Yes I hear you. I think as a community wide consensus ( by that I mean to say over the years of developing towards what users of all permission levels have pitched a complaint want or need about ) -- the time restrictions came to play. I remember back when -- someone would run back and change whgat they said after being called out on it lmao -- uhhm yea, like that, but with every restriction comes , or should i say goes some sort of freedom. For now , one thing i can suggest is to change your view settings, which can place the latest post at the top , thats if you're not using the 'goto last post' features and such, so not sure how that will work out, likely just the same. Again , editing posts after a longer period of time is in a sense reasonable, at the same time , terrible for SEO in some instances all the same. None the less I'll being this up on the backside and see if it grows - fair enough ?
  6. There are hundreds of devices we know this, just a poll to find out what your using. Whatever is not listed, just post it and we'll ad it, chances are there will be a lot added - so let us know what needs added.
  7. I think the time restraints are there so the topic follows the original post Lets have a look at the time stamps on the created topic ---- edit: yea, no idea why a new topic would be created when attempting to edit an out of time frame topic.
  8. I took some time last night deciphering what I could using GDB and figured that out, and thank you. It seems postfix was configured with debug. Fair enough, thought I've not had time enough to find out why it keeps crashing. Have time hopefully this coming week to get into it. Right now I'm seeing it coming from a horde/plesk issue.
  9. These files are being dumped in " /" (not root) on a dedicated VPS The machine gets anywhere between 2-10 / 15 minutes. They are binary files (executable files ) with no extension, just leaving successive numbering system after " core.XXXX " I'll drag one to an editor later if I have time to see what can be found , but what is legible outside of ASCII code appears to be related to the mail server. I cannot see any way that the server has been rooted, and permissions of the files are all rw , so they cannot be executed. Idea's ?
  10. Sounds like a GPU heat issue.
  11. Think about chucking the ISP provided VoIP. Unless of course they've wired it into the existing infrastructure as they tend to do. You can just as easy grab vonage who sends a free VoIP device with any package. Leaving this out , your options open up considerably.
  12. So I understand what your saying , since you had flow control set on the XP box, this effected the entire network ?
  13. Have you run ping and traceroute tests to google.com and testmy.net ? This will give you an idea as to the integrity of your new line. To ping a host... Windows Start > Run > type CMD [enter] > from the command prompt type ping google.com and/or ping testmy.net Linux / Mac Under Applications/Utilities open 'Terminal' > type ping google.com and/or ping testmy.net Paste those results here. To run a traceroute... Windows Start > Run > type CMD [enter] > from the command prompt type tracert google.com and/or tracert testmy.net Linux / Mac Under Applications/Utilities open 'Terminal' > type traceroute google.com and/or traceroute testmy.net Paste those results here.
  14. Anyone else getting beaten up by registrations from russia ? At a glance on one site I've had 5000+ in the last 24 hours. Logs don't show any more than normal port mappings and root attempts, just registrations like sadly madly. They seem to be doing this from a mail server ---- OSSEC HIDS Notification. 2013 Apr 16 06:10:17 Received From: xxxxxxx->/var/log/auth.log Rule: 5703 fired (level 10) -> "Possible breakin attempt (high number of reverse lookup errors)." And that list goes on and on ------------- and ON and ON lol yes - I xed out the domain
  15. So hell fire for change i paid for 10.8.3 through the app-store, burned the DMG -- then thought....... spit on this just do it. So I does it , after XXX amount of time , poof , latest version ( this means 10.9 will be pushed sooner than later) Yup , so osx server is now brokded, GPG tools are smashed to bits, but i gots the latest huh ? Two things i use daily are toast , duh-me why , just why do I not follow my own advice and read the repercussions of doing something like this ? That and aside no more secure email, the mail app is been goofy as hell , for instance on posts I don't use one of my sigs in , you just clicky the ' none' from dropdown right and it's gone , nope , no more , must delete it after selecting none. Lets see what else I've destroyed lol This is one MAIN reason I choose never to do this shit.
  16. Badda$$ man , that cooling system looks tight , how's the system serving you as whole ?
  17. Oh cool , the flashy light that won't quit ! I love those , last time we came aross something like this it was as has been said a broken tab on that paper jam switch, the time before that it was the light that does the scanning was puked out. Hell if it does still print for you , and the light bugs you , my ' professional advice ' on this one , would be to grab a slice of electrical tape for the red blinker

    Hello

Nice bandwidth !!! Welcome to testmy.net forum
  19. Now becoming CISSp certified is no joking matter -- if your seriously on the path , stay on it. As this title is in fact thee most valued decree in alchemist network authority -- good for you.
  20. You can also achieve this (new IP) by placing any device between the modem and the line. For instance if you step up to a firewall of some sort - PFsense ect-- and moving the physical or virtual WAN device / mac address - there are also legit ways to spoof the mac address instead of changing the actual nic.
  21. Thats ugly, but hey , if 20 minutes is what it takes to let the ISP forget about your modem. Just tell me please your local IP pool is anything but 10.x.x.1 or the likes -----------------
  22. Beating the beans out of the dev server with trial and - out of memory issues - looking for the fullest featured lightest weight collab server available. Truly i would like to use zimbra, with it's 2 gig base requirement it's not an option right now. I'm moving from postfix/spamassassin/Cyrus IMAP/Sieve to something with a bit more meat to it, so any suggestions are welcomed.
  23. Seems to be a running 'thing' - we just had nearly the same 'thing' this morning. Great hosts give plenty of warning time.
