RAINMAKA Posted September 13, 2006 CID Share Posted September 13, 2006 2GB in my desktop at DRR510 or 255MHz and 512 in my latptop. There is no real need for more then 2GB unless you do intensive video editing, and the fact that Windows sometimes wont even recognize more than 2GB. porsche6714 Posted September 13, 2006 CID Share Posted September 13, 2006 You guys better sit down for this one. I have a massive 256MB for the old dell 8200. She struggles to run even the easiest of programs. Luckily i do have a new computer that i just built with 2GB, so when i'm done with that good bye 256MB. netmasta Posted September 13, 2006 CID Share Posted September 13, 2006 That's not too bad. My old eMachines from 2002 only has 256MB. Heck, XP only requires 128MB. IMO, 256 can still get alot done, minus gaming and video editing.

porsche6714 Posted September 13, 2006 CID Share Posted September 13, 2006 256 is fine for word processing and powerpoints. The internet is kinda slow when you try to multitask. As long as i am only running 1 program at a time i'm usually ok.
