Went directly to speed test and got these results. The 9 Mbps is a multithread. But that 14 is alot better. I dont want to get my hopes up though because ive seen 14 Mbps on the other router 1 or 2 times but was usually below 5Mbps. I will keep testing it. By the way these speed tests are being conducted via wireless
IrishKing Posted February 7, 2017 CID Share Posted February 7, 2017 Hey Mudmanc4 thanks for replying I really appreciate someone taking notice. I chatted with cin bell tech support and the 1st thing he had me do was run a speed test through them which showed a speed of 15 Mbps wireless but I also ran a test here right after which showed a speed of 2.98 Mbps. I showed him both results. He said that's going to New York. I then explained to him what I read on here about providers using there own speed test and they're not accurate. He said they are not responsible for slow modems between here and New York. He then got on my router and notified me that there is indeed an issue with my line and is sending a tech Friday. Is there anything I should know or be prepared for when he is here as far as making sure things are done right? Again, thanks for your time. TriRan Posted February 8, 2017 CID Share Posted February 8, 2017 Sounds like levels must be off they will try to correct it, if all else fails make them run a new line from the drop outside your house

Pgoodwin1 Posted February 9, 2017 CID Share Posted February 9, 2017 Some time last year, my Time Warner Cable became Spectrum. Late last year my average download speeds for my 50/5 plan went up from about 60 Mbps to nearly 70 Mbps. This is a pretty typical result pretty much any time of day. An iPad Air 2. DarkZealot Posted February 19, 2017 CID Share Posted February 19, 2017 (edited) Frontier Communications (aka verizon fios) Fiber connection in Orange County, California. This is over WiFi on my laptop connected to Ubiquiti Unifi 802.11ac PRO Access Point model no. UAP‑AC‑PRO. My upload speed is on average 20Mbps faster than my download for some reason that I'm not complaining about. I can't think of any other way to actually arrive at 2Gbit down. Just the other day I was testing Arris hardware across 32 channel bonded symmetrical transmit/receive, but the only tests which depicted the actual connection speeds I was setup for were the upload tests here showing 1.3Gbit out of a potential 1.44Gbit.
