  1. I will try to find another link when I get home from work...although flying midgets would also be interesting.
  2. Looking good D!!! You'll be back kickin' ass soon.
  3. Guardian Angels must truly exist. It is amazing that this guy survived... Not broadband related, but a story I wanted others to see. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/us/2007/09/22/pilot.survives.crash.wfor
  4. That sucks that you have to deal with that everyday. But be happy it wasn't Ebola or the disease from the movie 28 Days Later. There could be rampaging killer Zombies running around :tard:
  5. Like the guy below....all he was trying to do was hang a picture on the wall
  6. I thought I knew almost everything, but Shug has proven me wrong again. I will have to try this, too. My luck I will blast ammonium chloride, magnesium dioxide and carbon powder into my eyes and blind myself. ( I love Wikipedia - or you can go on thinking that I actually knew what was in a standard battery )
  7. I see, my home town has moved ahead of most big cities with the fiber. By the way I grew up right next to Longfellow Elementary, and live in Neb now. I was kind of sad when I was in town a few years ago and saw that they removed all the houses on the same block as the school, I used to live right next door on the west side. edit: spelling
  8. Glad your levels are looking better. Who's running FTTH up there in the Dakotas? (I am assuming this because you are with MidContinent)
  9. Everything looks pretty good to me.... The 33dB on the upstream transmit power is on the low side, but it depends upon how your home is fed by the cable plant outside. If you are at the end of a feeder run, fed by a 4/2 tap for example, then that 33dB TX would be around normal, again depending on how many splits there are in your home.
  10. Thanks for the update tdawn. Get better soon, CA3LE.
  11. What type of network are you on? (office, cable modem, dsl, etc..) Do you have a router with multiple PC's running?
  12. Awesome, be waiting.
  13. Welcome back! And disturbed lives in Phoenix, so Key West is much cooler I am sure. He probably had to take a coat.
  14. You are a little on the outside edges of both downstream and upstream levels, peeps. Now it is a lot cooler today than it has been in weeks here in Omaha. Your receive level was almost certainly at least 3-5dB lower yesterday than it is now; which would have put it below minimum good inputs. Are your problems occurring during the heat of the day generally (late afternoon)?
  15. What about updating to the latest IE 7.0? Version 7 works flawless for me on my 5 year old 2.53GHz P4. It shouldn't be an issue with yours, plus it has tabs like FF, although I still prefer FF. It's a little more friendly, but it is a memory hog...
  16. Here is an example of my Moto's screenshot: It actually says Downstream and Upstream power, not TX and RX (which is how we people who work on HFC systems usually refer to the levels). edit: A quick note - by TX and RX, we mean Transmit (upstream) and Receive (downstream), respectively. It doesn't mean TEXAS and DRUGS ( Shug........ )
  17. PEEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check your PM'S!!!!!
  18. I am looking at buying a new router and i came across the Belkin N1 Vision. It's a little pricey, but it looks pretty nice. It is a MIMO wireless and has 4 gigabit Ethernet ports. The LCD screen is cool on the router itself. Does anyone have this router yet? http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=377018#
  19. Maybe a duplex mismatch? I have never tested my downloads while uploading something at the same time. There would also be some processor usage issues, but your machine looks pretty quick. Try the test at http://netspeed.stanford.edu/ and look at the duplex test results.
  20. Uh, no, not really. Actually it did give me this result on first try and I though "what is mudmanc smokin?" But I hit search again and it worked well.
  21. Is it a Motorola modem? If so, you can access the diagnostics of the modem from any PC that is connected, even through a router, wired or wireless. Click this link: http://192.168.100.1/config.htm If it is a newer Motorola, then you should see the reset button on that page. If not try typing 192.168.100.1 into your browser. If you can reset it this way, then he'll never know.............it will just look like the modem reset for some reason. BTW; just hit "Restart Cable Modem" , don't reset the defaults. Although that won't hurt anything, it will just take longer to synch.
  22. I am getting 14 to 15 MB/s straight to my modem. With my DI-524 router, I am lucky to get 11 MB/s though. May have to consider a new one, although I can definitely live with 11
