Used to be able to get almost 1000 Kbps (out of 1024) upload from testmy.net with Firefox. See my old records for that. Now that my dad is using BT 24/7 that's simply over. If I'm lucky Iget 25 KB/s. I think the issue is just a wrong Firefox configuration.

It's BS really. Normal ping commands have no impact on the network. You could of course set packet size to 64k and add the -t switch, but on dial-up that's even more BS than on cable/dsl, since it takes a while to send a single packet then. Dial-up just isn't made for DoS.

Those speed results are pretty strange. What's your speed when downloading a normal file? Use a program like AIDA32 or possibly StatBar to see what your current speed is, the values shown by IE and Firefox are averages and severely influenced by burst when downloading. Edit: As some of you may have noticed, I'm pretty much inactive, but I still check threads that were reported. So as long as you people keep reporting I'm still doing my job

That means you are going too fast, so the 579 KB test cannot give an accurate speed test result.This happens with all but the highest speed test, but the exact thresholds aren't known to me. IIRC 5 Mpbs on the 2992 KB test will forward to a 5 MB test.

You know Shug, that's basically my true speed. My ping and the occasional loss of connection kill any chance of me ever reaching 4 Mbps speed to here. Upload is still yummy, set exactly at my cap. Just that ping robs me of 60 Kbps on the test results.

That's one bug fixed (thanks for that ), but there is still something not quite right.. can you see it?
