  1. IMO, Mac still leads Windows in quality of OS for 2 main reasons: stability - based on the Unix kernel security - smaller consumer base, so not a hot target for secuirty exploits
  2. Why don't you check out the Paypal "Help Center" ? https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_help-ext&source_page=_home
  3. May the new year bring you health and good fortune. Cheers.

  5. Merry Christmas, everyone! If you're travelling, be sure to give yourself enough time that you don't have to rush. If you're eating, be sure to have seconds. If you're with family, enjoy!
  6. Are you prompted for a password, or given an error message?
  7. What does netstat show on the box? Is any process showing high bandwidth or CPU usage? Any strange ports in use? I agree with Swimmer that it would be good to go through your firewall logs.
  8. Check these out. Super Mario theme: Super Mario on 2 guitars (1 dude):
  9. Well i caved and picked up the Palm Treo 700wx with Windows. It's a great phone, but then again so was the last one. I like the Windows, but for the extra $$$ i'm not totally convinced it's that much better. Looking around the net, it seems there is more free software geared towards the Palm OS. In comparison, this one has Windows Media Player, the other had RealPlayer. This one has MSN Messenger, the other had AIM. This one has hotmail, the other had gmail. They both have MS Office. I mean, yeah Windows is pretty.... but.... $$$$ ....and Palm is just as functional. I think I may go back to Palm OS.
  10. The Windows OS looks pretty slick, but if it's anything like other MS products, it would be a resource hog, and one of the things I really need is good battery life. Why do you recommend the Windows OS over Palm (ie. functionality/user friendly/compatability)? Have you found any decent reviews or comparisons between the two? Nice. The 650 ha 32 MB storage, 312MHz Intel processor, SD/MultiMediaCard/SDIO expansion, Bluetooth, etc. The Treo 700wx has the Windows OS and 128 MB storage. For like another $100, do you think it's worth it? I'm seriously considering it....
  11. Nice. I was looking at the Q. Very sharp. I think I found a decent free AIM for Palm: http://info.aol.co.uk/aim/palm/ It's free so far. Having a bit of trouble getting it to import my buddy list, but that's alright cause it would just be for incoming IM's anyway. I tried a couple of other free software, but this one seems to be stable (had to hard reset and re-sync the palm after one install!). It seems like there is a good amount of free apps out there...just need to sort through the proprietary stuff, some of which is not cheap at all.
  12. A bit more info laptop or desktop what OS what sound card what happens when sound cuts out what happens when sound comes back anything else happen when the sound cuts out to start.
  13. Well, I lost my old cell. It was a Motorola flip phone, nothing special. So I decided to get a new phone: <img src="http://www.dynamoo.com/moobiles/images/other/palmone-treo-650-1.jpg"> Palm Treo 650. The model is a few months old, but I got a good deal. The Treo 700 came out recently, with additional features. I considered going for the 700, but I though I'd try this one first. I have 30 days to decide if I like it. I have just a couple of questions, for anyone who knows: is it better to go with the Palm OS, or the Windows Mobile OS, and what are the benefits of each? is there any way to get IM apps (ie. AIM, MSN, etc.) on it? what is the best way/place to get apps for the Palm (preferably without spending anything)
  14. You can look up ISPs in your area here: http://www.canadianisp.com/ You can compare the average speed tested for each host: http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/host_stats.php
  15. I think those quite possibly are his choice favorites.
  16. Looks pretty sweet, Swimmer. I'll have to check it out.
  17. I'm pretty happy with IE7. I find it has the highest percentage compatibility with web content. You just need to be careful what integrated software you use with it (ie. toolbars, antispyware, popup blockers, etc.). And clean cache and cookies regularly (you can schedule disk cleanup to do this).
  18. Outlaw69, are you running a router or a firewall? May be a port issue. What do you get for a speed test?
  19. There are also a number of online spyware scans at your disposal (just search Google for something like "online spyware scan"). You should also have at least one antispyware installed on your PC though, as well. Any of the ones mentioned are a good start. I use Ad-aware and Ewido, but I also use other engines to scan online.
  20. Hi pepereman. Looks like your upload might be a little low. Are you using VOIP attached to your modem, a router, or as software on your PC (ie. skype)?
  21. Hells yes, I'm gonna see it! <<<< Die hard Rocky fan.
