What do you use the computer for? You could put a better heatsink on the CPU and overclock it. You should be able to get close to the 2.8MHz that the FX-62 runs at, You might even be able to get to 2.8MHz The only real avenge the FX-62 has is a unlock multiplier and 1MB of L2 cache. If I were to upgrade I would go for the 6000+[3.0MHz] for the same price.

It can still be the motherboard even if the light come on . You could have just fried the video part of the motherboard. On my ASUS motherboard the red circle is were the CPU and the Voltage regulator is.
-
I think you smoked something in the motherboard. What motherboard do you have? My ASUS has a little green light at the bottom of the motherboard that light up to tell me the motherboard is powered up and working.

How do you know the computer is booting up,you should at lease see the BIOS screen when you boot the computer using the integrated graphic on the motherboard? I know this is a long shot ,but did you change the cable from the computer to the monitor?.
-
DO have another video card to try ,also make sure the integrated graphic turned back on when you remove the first video card. I am no expert but a power surge can also be to much power [a lightning strike close to were you live] ]

Toshiba would be the best place to get the right drivers. Toshiba would be the place to get all the drivers in one place. If you mean to get all the drivers in one downloads, I do not think anybody does that.

I replace the motherboard in my computer and had no problems reusing my OEM copy of XP Home.

Vista Home Prem. making laptop mouse/cursor go haywire

Sound like you are still having a driver problem. You might have to find out who made the touchpad for HP and go to their web site for the right drivers. -
Do you have a VGA jack or DVI jack on the TV, that the owner manual said to hook the PC up too? My 40" Samsung LCD will only get the right resolution[1366X768] when i use the PC jack. In the owner manual it say the HDMI jacks do not support PC connection.

If you have another computer around then download a copy of Kubuntu linux and use that to get your computer up and running until you get your copy of windows. Taking a harddrive out of another computer might not work to good, it is setup with all the driver that computer need to work and might conflict with the drivers you need for your computer to work right.

I have been running Ubuntu for about a month. My biggest problem so far is installing software programs, but I have not had much time to mess with it to figure out how to get it to install the software. I get a lot of my added programs for the Synaptic Package Manager that come package in Ubuntu. You can run Ubuntu off the install disk with out installing anything in the computer if you just want to see what it looks like.

Read labels...buy USA if at all possible!!
Buntz replied to tommie gorman's topic in General Discussion
No I really do not look at the labels when I buy something. I do try to buy from local and small business when I can. -
I think he will be alright to ,it just the memory is not on the memory support list for that board. It never hurts to make a phone call to be sure.
-
Memory support list is a pdf file download. You need to download and install a pdf reader,I use Foxit reader to read my pdf file. If it still will not work then call gigabyte and they will tell you if the ram will work. g

Here is were you can find what memory that works with that board. Look under Memory Support List. http://www.gigabyte-usa.com/Support/Motherboard/CPUSupport_Model.aspx?ClassValue=Motherboard&ProductID=2527&ProductName=GA-MA69G-S3H I do not see the memory that you want to buy there. But it could be a old list, call Gigabyte support and I am sure they can tell you if it will work with their board. You might want to change that 80mm rear fan to a 120mm fan to get better air flow in the case, Everything else looks good.

That happen some times. Now you have the right information to make up a new shopping list that will work with that motherboard. Just do not give up ,I built my first computer about 2 years ago and that the only way I will get a new computer now.
-
I went to Foxconn web site and found this. It show what is compatible with the motherboard you pick.http://www.foxconnchannel.com/EN-US/product/Motherboards/compatibility.aspx?model_id=en-gb0000215&model_name=G9657MA-8KS2H You may have to make some change to your shopping list. Also you still need to buy a power supply.

Building a new budget gaming computer. help?
Buntz replied to alan8187's topic in General Discussion
I do not think going with a cheap HP is a good ideal. The power supplies that they use are usually low power and will not have the power output that a good video card needs. -
