  2. Here is another chart for reference.
  3. Is the recover disc all you have? If so, try loading up through safe-mode w/networking, download an antivirus program, and scan your system. Hopefully the program will install under safe-mode without you getting an error regarding the installer not being able to start.
  4. I consider my self to have a pretty strong resistance to gross videos, pics or whatever, but that one almost made me lose it. Some of the sickest shit that I've ever seen.
  5. I can't say for sure, but I don't think that's your problem. I think it's Service Pack 2. I've proven this to myself on several occasions. Every time I install it, my connection gets crappy (even with the open connections fix/patch). As soon as I remove it, my connection revives again. If you're computer savy enough to protect youself with a great firewall/anti-virus combo, and you have a nice spyware blocker, I'd remove SP2. It's seems to be aimed at novice users who can't protect themselves. I don't need someone else to limit the number of connections my system can have open at one time. SP2 was designed around security, and stopping/limiting file sharing. It's not good for any p2p program. If you're convinced that SP2 isn't the issue, disregard.
  6. WMP10 is all I seem to use. I've tried to dedicate myself to other players because of the claimed features, but it never lasts for more than a few hours after install. InterVideo Home Theater
  7. Everyone should have Windows Marketplace in their Favorites/Links folder.
  8. Go into the real time protection settings and disable "Network Security". Your connection will be restored. If not, reboot. I had the same problem once before. I use my own firewall anyway, so I didn't need it enabled as it's not meant to be used as a firewall solution. There is a work around that corrects this if you really want it on. I don't recommend using it as or along with your main firewall. Find the fix on the boards here: Kaspersky Labs Forum
  9. Did you even read the fix I posted. If you follow everything exactly to the letter, you'll be fine. You've got to be willing to put in work in order to get the job done. It's not always going to be a 1 click solution for what you want. Leave this page open and follow the 6 easy steps referring back to it as often as needed. It's not hard at all. At least give it a shot.
  10. That site seems to be judging on what it thinks are great features, installation, and stuff that doesn't really matter. They wouldn't know a good AV product if it bit them in the ass. A thorough test needs to be performed. Actual viruses should be thrown at each antivirus program in order to decide which is best.
  11. Happy TG all.
  12. The validation link is no good. Here are your scores: https://testmy.net/s_engine.php?type=user_name&q=flammingcowz
  13. Disable Messenger MSN Published By Marc Liron - Microsoft MVP In Digital Media How To Disable Messenger MSN... Not every user of Windows XP wants to use MSN Messenger. However if you try and set the options so that MSN Messenger does not load when Windows XP loads up. You often find that this does not work and MSN Messenger appears in the system tray again! Now there are a couple of methods to Disable Messenger MSN. This is my personal favorite: Step 1) To Disable Messenger MSN from running go to the start menu and select RUN. In the window that appears type regedit (see example below) Step 2) The Registry editor will now have opened. Navigate to the following Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwarePoliciesMicrosoft Now create a new key by selecting Edit from the main menu bar. Now select New then Key. Name this new Key:
  14. If that's the case, he probably shouldn't have been reading since the beginning if he's not old enough. Everyone has a different meaning to their screen name. Some are normal. Some are of a 'totally weird and sick reference' (as you put it). You did ask right?
  15. Well now, how do I put this? Organ_Shifter evolved as a username directly from my shifting of organs. I tend to move a few things around when I'm puttin' in work. Organ_Shifter = A person who temporarily disables the normal, functional movements of any woman, from the waist down, by implementing pure pleasure through a thrusting motion. {Satyriasis} LMAO!
  16. Congrats Verizon User. You should be very happy. The 5/2 package price is whatever Verizon agrees to charge the particular user that they're trying to sign up. Being that he has dsl service with another provider, Verizon seems to be willing to match whatever he's paying now just to get him aboard.
  17. Yep, the WMP plugin has been around for a little while, but the Genuine Advantage plugin is a step in the right direction for users of the browser. I don't use FF though.
  18. Good news for FF users. ...whether you use IE or not - for example, Windows Media Player has a Firefox plugin. I also recently got a chance to play with a new Firefox plugin that simplifies and improves the Windows validation process on that browser... Read here: Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage plugin now available for Firefox
  19. More than likely, your tv resolution is a max of 1024x768. If your desktop resolution is set to anything higher than that, your tv display will have to scroll to display everything. I get the same thing, However, if you use extended desktop instead of cloning, you will be able to view your entire desktop on your tv in all it's glory at any resolution you choose. I'm currently using ATI Tools that was installed with the latest version of ATI's Omega Drivers. It offers alot more customizations than ATI's version. As you can see from the last 2 pics, you have to select your second display, set the resolution, and check the second box. The first 2 pics are from ATI Tools.
  20. Currently, there are no significant benefits to bridging connections or using connection teaming. Believe me, I've been trying for the last 1 1/2 years. I can't believe that there isn't a program which can combine two connections successfully. Just a few days ago, I reinstalled Vicomsoft InterGate software in hopes that I missed something before, but I didn't. It would allow me to use my connections together as far as overall throughput, but I couldn't fuse them together as one super connection. I had the satisfaction/piece of mind in knowing that this type of connection teaming gave me redundancy, but, being that my connection doesn't ever go down (mabey for maintenance), it didn't help me accomplish my goal. There will be no gain when downloading/speed testing largely due to the fact of it being an ip based function (I may not be wording that correctly). Anyhow, some theories are based on the fact of when you start a download, the data is specifically going to be transferred directly to the ip address that requested it. It won't be able to be disassembled between the two ip addresses of the combined connections and then reassembled at the destination. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a work around for the home user yet.
  21. I found this for you, but I will continue to search. Read the pic.
  22. Thxz. Realtek drivers are for your sound. "VIA Hyperion Pro Version - 5.04A" & "VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 Version - 4.56v" are chipset drivers (which should be installed first above anything). The pro package is definitely better. When you say that the Realtek drivers are what was packaged with your motherboard, you mean that Realtek software is what's offered on your motherboard's setup disc correct? If this is true, then the latest Realtek drivers are what's needed for your software to run properly and not the VIA package. I suppose either will work, but I'd go with what's on the actual disc, but the latest downloaded version.
